Sixth Edition of MBI: Living Authentically In Business
Doing What You Love, Not What You “Should”
Hello and welcome to the sixth edition of Modern Business Insights!🚀
In each edition (every Sunday), you’ll find different tips, insights, tricks, software & more to move your business forward or help for start one!
In this week’s post, I’ll be exploring the importance of living authentically in business — doing what you love rather than blindly following societal expectations, advice from others, or the purely profit-based mindset.
Without further ado, let us start!

This Week’s Learnings: Listening To Your Inner Wisdom
As entrepreneurs, we often get caught up in the hustle of building our businesses. We take advice from gurus, consume content non-stop, and constantly try to implement the next big strategy.
But in the process, we can lose touch with our inner truth — what we actually want to do, versus what we feel we “should” do. This misalignment not only leads to burnout but also less inspiration and impact.
That’s why this week, I practiced tuning out the noise and listening to my inner wisdom. If my mind said “You need to write more blog posts to make money,” I would pause and feel if that resonated as truth or expectation.
Oftentimes, taking a break or working on a passion project felt more aligned.
By listening within, I unlocked more inspiration, joy, and a sense of purpose in my work. I realized success isn’t about blindly following conventional advice, but about living authentically in alignment with your soul.

Early Stage Business Advice: Give Yourself Permission To Experiment
As an early-stage founder, you don’t need to have it all figured out yet. Give yourself permission to try new things aligned with who YOU are (not just what seems hot right now).
Play around with different business models, offer various services, and work in ways that light you up. Don’t worry about committing to any one rigid plan.
By tuning into your inner wisdom and acting on it, you will organically uncover the path meant for you.
Build a vision of how you want your life to look in the next years. Work on it for a week. You will see that this alone will transform your life.

Business Term of The Week: Ikigai
Ikigai (pronounced ee-key-guy) is a Japanese concept meaning “reason for being.” Your ikigai is your intersection of:
- What you love
- What you’re good at
- What the world needs
- What you can get paid for
Finding this sweet spot unlocks flow, purpose, and fulfillment. Use Ikigai as a framework for making aligned business decisions.
