Six Signs That You Don’t Have the Mentality of Being Trapped in the Matrix Anymore
#5. Coincidences are too frequent to be coincidences.
“I can only show you the door. You’re the one who has to walk through it.” — Morpheus
But what happens when you’ve already walked through the door and haven’t realized it?
Well, I’m sure you feel a little confused, and you probably think life is going badly for you when, perhaps, it’s just the opposite.
That’s why I want to share three signs that you may have stepped out of the Matrix (mentally) and didn’t even realize it.
1. Something inside you tells you there is another way to live.
A more organic and less artificial.
You have realized that social structures are simply templates that standardize people’s lives, but the price of standardization is repression.
In other words, the modern version of the Greek myth of Procrustes.
The guy who offered inn to travelers and forced them to lie on an iron bed where he stretched or cut them until they were the exact size of the bed.
And you’re not willing to pay that price. You pass on being homologated. You pass on fitting in his iron bed.
Why be Thomas A. Anderson (what others want you to be) when you can be Neo (your true essence)?
That’s why you don’t care about the criticism of the Smith Agents (your environment).
You know that to be the “chosen one,” you must select yourself because if you don’t pick yourself, who will choose you?
That is why you have started to apply the Latin expression in the kitchen of the Oracle in the Matrix movie Temet Nosce (Know thyself).
2. You have discovered that all magic has a trick.
It’s like the scene in the first Matrix movie when a young boy who looks like the Dalai Lama young version teaches Neo how to bend spoons with his mind and tells him, “Don’t try to bend the spoon; it’s impossible. To bend it, try to discover the truth: that there is no spoon.”
You understood that the trick of the Matrix is to give you a choice to create the illusion of freedom of choice.
There is no freedom of choice; there is no spoon.
Because the truth is that when someone gives you the options, you have no freedom of choice because whatever you choose, you choose their proposed options, not yours.
3. You see reality with new eyes
You see that the invisible prison bars in which they tried to lock your soul are made of fear.
You have discovered that the deal is always the same, “Freedom in exchange for security.”
But it’s not a fair deal because security doesn’t exist. It is a fiction.
There is nothing certain in life except death.
No one can guarantee that you will live tomorrow; that’s why you have begun to live to squeeze today and stop living cornered by fear of tomorrow.
You made that old phrase of Morpheus your own, “Forget everything: fear, doubt, disbelief.” And you freed your mind.
4. You discovered that self-deception is anesthesia.
Now you see the Matrix’s teeth.
You realized that self-deception is how humans tolerate everything we know we have to change.
And that we increase the dose if necessary, with self-justification, excuses, and denial.
That is why you have stopped lying to yourself.
Because you prefer that pain warns you that something is wrong than to live a mediocre life for fear of feeling it.
5. Coincidences are too frequent to be coincidences.
Every life has a unique and exclusive purpose. And that cannot be a coincidence.
That’s why you feel you are the chosen one.
As the Oracle said in the movie, “Being the chosen one is like being in love. No one tells you if you are, you know.”
So you know that if you are still breathing, it is because you have a purpose to fulfill; you may not know what it is, but you know there is one.
You accept your responsibility and do not look away.
You have been looking for something for a long time, even if you don’t know what it is, because you have the intuition that there is something or someone who has been waiting for you all your life.
6. You have begun to prioritize questions.
“It is the question Neo, that drives us, it is the question that has brought us here.” — Trinity (Matrix movie)
That’s why you don’t care so much about the answers anymore.
Because as Morpheus once said, “There are no questions without answers, only poorly formulated questions.”
So, if you find the right question, you know the consequence is the correct answer.
And that’s the secret of living in this world of cause and effect.
Now you know it. So,
Wake up, Neo…
Follow the white rabbit.
A virtual hug
