Sink or Swim
Live between memories and imagination
The agitation shared photographs of envy. Transformed by angry words of disregard. After forgetting who he once was. No place to redefine his ego. Submerged by faults that have become his salvation. Intrusive thoughts he cannot surmount. Anxiety attacking the unhealed wounds. While standing in-between an ocean and the road to devastation. After squeezing the last of his leniency dry. He smiled back to the lies that fell from the black tooth grin. He ponders. If arrogance could kill, we would surely be free, from the exploitation of desperation, a nonoptional, unethical system.
Almost absent fear of squandering an unwanted position. While he was absent the wisdom to live between memories and imagination. The sands of times are forever flowing, and he has forgotten.
Forgotten how to separate from discontentment and regain the real hunger that he hung out to dry like everyone who is not coming to save him. Without a conclusion, the hesitation stands at the edge of expectation.
When memories start pouring. We can fight the current or get washed away. When flooded by imaginations. We can swim away from worries or sink holding onto expectations.
The past is gone, and happiness is not in the future waiting for us. Live in the now.
