Singing to Our Hearts and Spirits
Springtime delivers a new colorful perspective

“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”
– Paulo Coelho
Every day can offer new hope in colorful ways.
Although I’m going to focus on the beauty of color as springtime quickly approaches. I’m looking forward to the new life we will soon observe and cherish.
I’m going to be planting some wildflowers in remembrance of my mother-in-law. It will become a new garden and a place of deep prayers. I’m going to create a beautiful garden of peace, hope, and tranquility.
As I look forward to the colors of the flowers soon to come, I pause in abundance. I’m thankful for the invisible spaces of our lives where there is no color but the almighty waits to bring His beautiful gifts our way.
Sure, every day of the week can have its troubles, but we must believe our days are filled with God's unique gifts. He makes all things new. Spring is a reminder of His unending colorful love which stems from his promises in the rainbow covenant.
“And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”
— Isaiah 6:3
I’m creating prayers for every day of the week based on colors, but I first must confess, I do not have a green thumb. I plan to pray every day while I’m watering the soon-to-come wildflowers.
I’m looking forward to watching the invisible become visible through prayer and God’s promises for each of us.
Monday
The color of the day is white.
A Daisy is a lovely place to start, simple yet elegant.
White is a sign of purity and peace. White is a classic example of perfection which means I will definitely plant some daisies in my garden!
Known for innocence, white flowers in full bloom will surely make their space in the garden more serene.
Monday’s prayer:
As I water my garden pausing to remember you while gazing at the beauty of the daisies, please grant me ways to refrain from the busyness of life; provide me with your pure untainted peace. Please invariably bless our family. – Amen
Tuesday
The color of the day is pink. Pink is my favorite; maybe some beautiful Carnations will do the trick. They will make a versatile garden providing alternating tones of brilliant pinks.
Pink has been chosen for breast cancer awareness which changed the course of my life in twenty nineteen forever.
I’m a survivor, so although I see pink as sweet and precious like a newborn baby, I also perceive pink as strong and courageous. Maybe that’s what hot pink is all about!
Tuesday’s prayer:
As I look at your beauty today, I ask you to look upon me with your loving eyes of mercy. May your healing powers sprinkle over me, may your strength flow into every part of my body. May you reach deep into my soul. Please cleanse and purify my being. Restore me and strengthen me to service others. Please invariably bless our family. – Amen
Wednesday
The color of the day is green. Green clover will step up its game in the garden, and I hope to find a four-leaved one at that.
Wednesday is an opportune day for investment and finances. Green gives me good vibes and fills me with energy. I hope it will also fill up my pockets and portfolio.
Wednesday’s prayer:
As I observe your generous shades of green, please grant my husband and me divine strategies, wisdom, and knowledge so that we can continue to develop a plan for our money. Deposit an abundant flow of ideas and instructions in our minds that will result in significant financial gain. Grant us favor in the marketplace, business, and for all your gain. Please invariably bless our family. – Amen
Thursday
The color of the day is yellow. I heard Black-Eyed Susan’s are always friendly to have around.
These yellow gems stand tall and proud. Bright yellow grabs attention and the contrasts of black make the most striking color combination.
Thursdays will bring in good results when we appoint it as a day to follow our intuitions and beliefs – standing up for all that is near and dear to us.
Thursday’s prayer:
As I weep in your garden today, reflecting in the presence of your bright flowers, even though darkness in our world is inevitable, please give me light. When sadness numbs my spirit, grant hope. When I stumble, hold my hand. When disbelief comes, could you fill me with faith? When nothing seems obvious, let me trust my intuition. When intentions fade, could you give me a refreshed vision? When I feel lost, please guide me. May I always find rest in your presence? Please invariably bless our family. – Amen
Friday
The color of the day is light blue. Perhaps some Forget Me Not’s would look nice.
Little pops of light blue brighten even the grayest of skies. Blue in a garden is sure to bring delight. Pale blue always brings a calming effect.
Happiness saturates the day. Love blossoms and effortless profits are eventful on Fridays.
Friday’s prayer:
In your loving mercy, I stand and water the flowers of many colors. I can rejoice in your true happiness. I place my troubles at your feet in faith. Making my load lighter is your delight. You hand-selected and created each of us for your purpose. You are always good to me, and I will rejoice and be glad on this day. Please invariably bless our family. – Amen
Saturday
The color of the day is purple. I’m choosing Purple Echinacea purpurea or also known as the purple coneflower.
Purple means royalty in my eyes. Purple also illuminates harmony – the balance between unfavorable forces.
So, I suppose work initiated in the first half on Saturdays could carry a high possibility of success, but much rest must also follow. Anything is possible when hope coincides.
Saturday’s prayer:
As I begin to mist my beautiful flowers after some morning chores, may your light guide my feet. You give me direction in my days. You are the harmony that makes me strong. I faithfully follow you as your light illuminate my life. May I find inspiration in your words and balance in my heart and life? Please invariably bless our family. – Amen
Sunday
The color of the day is orange. I’m excited to grow some Sulphur Cosmos to entice those lovely butterflies. My mother-in-law truly admired butterflies.
Orange brings adventure and excitement. Sundays are an excellent day to undertake journeys.
Sundays are a day for rest and even celebrations. It’s a beautiful day to feed and entertain the family.
Sundays are a day to reset for the week while seeking fun and entertainment, embracing hobbies and festive activities.
Sunday’s prayer:
Awe, I find much joy in watering my garden in your presence. I come this lovely Sunday morning asking you for a heart of gratitude. There is so much to be thankful for, and I want to spend the day honoring you. Please help me get closer to you by seeing the good in everything since every good gift is from you. Fill my day with adventure, fun, and much rest. Please invariably bless our family. – Amen
A bouquet
Life is much like a bouquet from a well-tended garden – full of color, elegance, and a magnitude of fragrances that are luring and intoxicating.
Life is invigorating, fascinating, exhilarating and our days are open to God’s eternal promises that the tiniest of seeds are always eager to bloom and enlighten those who believe. God always puts a spring in my step.
I’m thankful for my relationship with God. Our family will dearly miss my mother-in-law. I’m grateful for the time we did have together to love unconditionally. I’m thankful for how God fills our gray days back up with color.
Thank you, Trista Signe Ainsworth, for your lovely writing prompt about what puts a spring in our step. I’m thankful for your creative publication; Thank You Notes, and team.
A haiku in remembrance of my late sister-in-law. It has been almost fourteen years since she went home to be with the Lord:
