Simplicity in This Modern World
Nature provides our every need
“You’ll never find peace of mind until you listen to your heart.”
— George Michael
Life can get busy if we let it.
Busyness is the farthest from peace. Filling our lives with things will never bring us peace. Those are the very things that squeeze out any fragment of peace.
We are all in search of peace of mind. To find peace; listening to our hearts is in our best interest.
If time is an illusion, why does it seem to rule our days? We must find ways to escape the time warps of the world that try to rob us of peace.
We can create illusions in our minds by sneaking away to a hideaway to find the peace that passes all understanding while searching our hearts.
All you need is your imagination, some paper, a pencil, and the willingness to escape the busyness of life.
Escape
When I was going through a divorce over twenty-four years ago, I discovered how writing in a journal brought me much peace of mind. I was desperate when I gave journaling a try.
When I first began writing, it was like a spiderweb of troubles intertwining into more worries creating space for anxiety to linger. It took awhile before discovering ways to clean up the cobwebs in my mind.
As I began to create a new life for my daughter and me slowly, journaling brought an escape from the worrying in my life.
I knew that it was up to me to follow my heart to not only bring peace to me but also to my daughter.
“I prefer peace. But if trouble must come, let it come in my time, so that my children can live in peace.”
— Thomas Paine
There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for my children. Writing in a journal has become a top priority to allow the room to create an extraordinary life. I believe writing visions are so crucial to creating a better life.
A journal provides an escape from the world and provides a space where anything is possible. It opens the door to your heart.
Could you use a break? Won’t you open the door to your beating heart? The walls of this quiet place in the woods resembles our being.
Where
A journal is made from trees and can breathe life back into us. Perhaps you will join me and slowdown in this quiet escape in the woods, or you can transport yourself wherever you would like in your mind. My happy place is usually camping or nature.
Slowing down to write while becoming aware of your breathing is key. Let your breathing slow too. Perhaps lighting a candle can set the stage for peace.
What
The most important question people have is what am I supposed to write about in my journal? People sometimes feel that it gets repetitious. Well, so does brushing our teeth, but that doesn’t stop us.
The action behind journaling must become a habit. However, the resistance that one might feel is how some parts of our hearts can get cracked wide open and come gushing profusely onto the pages.
Opening your heart to peace won’t come easy. Listening to the parts of your heart that have laid doormat for years can be extremely difficult yet necessary at times.
How
Writing in a journal will evolve with you. Keeping things simple at first is essential. Building on your habit is best done slowly.
Start by asking if anything is bothering you? It is almost like riding a bicycle backward. Can you imagine how hard that would be? Anything that can bring such positive results will not be easy, but it will be worth it.
A journal provides a safe place to search your heart one layer at a time. Take your thoughts and work them backward to discover those hidden places in your heart. Begin to slowly clean up the cobwebs of your heart one at a time.
Soon your heart will begin to fill with beauty and peace will fill those once heavy places of your being.
When
Finding a moment when you can sneak away is not impossible. The moment you come to the present second with open arms is when the door of opportunity opens, and a new world of creating and discovery will begin in your heart.
“Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have. Make the Now the primary focus of your life.”
— Eckhart Tolle
When something is powerful enough to bring peace, it’s worth exploring when your heart is open. Journaling is a powerful tool.
And again
There are so many great ways to journal. Asking if something is causing you troubles can open the door. Once open, gratitude can begin to pour out onto the pages.
Using your journal as a creative haven can bring much peace in these busy times.
Sit awhile in the wildflowers of your heart and soak up those sweet fragrances and their pure simplistic beauty.
Peace is a virtue that needs nurturing. It needs love to cultivate space within a journal and a pencil to encourage your heart, mind, and soul with visions of a brighter future. Might you escape soon to create a vision?
