Life is busy, super hectic and we all have many things to do in a day. Working on deadlines, paying bills, cooking meals, shopping, laundry, picking, dropping kids, working out and other zillions things in our daily life. Since we started working from home, time seem to be passing quickly and some time you may think, you’re not being enough productive in your day than you used to be.

Most of the time, you feel exhausted, over burned and don’t have energy to do anything else. These days, we feel like we have less time than ever and in some very real ways and we actually do.

Sometimes, you want to watch your favorite movie or just drink your wine peacefully, but most of the time, we are just hustling from one thing to another.

If you feel like you don’t have enough time to do everything you want to do, maybe it’s time to check-in with your time management skills and re look at the daily routine. Still, it is possible to get through that daunting and long to-do list without losing your mind, and the secret to reaching peak productivity is to change the way you define and look at time.

Work is something we all do, and you may say you are being very productive but are you. The real question is, how we can achieve maximum productivity from our day and at the same time, we have time left to do things for ourselves as well.

I am going to give you few simple and easy heck to boost your productivity and I really hope it make a difference in your daily hustle.

Mobile Apps And Managing Emails- There are apps available for anything and everything. You just name it and you can find an app. So why don’t you use it in your daily life routine.

Put automatic replies to your emails and messages. You can have a dedicated time to check your emails instead of checking and replying through out your day. You can set up time like 08 AM, 11 AM , 02 PM , 04 PM etc to reply to messages and emails. There is no need to keep checking your phone every time you hear a notification sound. You can use any online tools as well to keep a focus on your daily tasks and routine.

Put reminder for your important tasks or meetings in your phone and decide on time to work on a specific time. Finish your work during that time so that you are not keeping it for next day or just trying to delay it. Track your activity where you spend your most of the day.

Sticky Notes or Post It — I absolutely love sticky notes. You can use it anywhere and anytime. Keep sticky notes handy with you or keep in your kitchen, living room, your office space. Use these notes for daily reminders. Put it on refrigerator, laptop screen, door or on your wall; where you can see them. This is a great way to remind yourself what to do.

Keep a note for your grocery list and stick to your refrigerator door and add a item whenever you see or think you need to buy. This way you don’t need to spend time to create a grocery list. You can color code it based on your interest and priorities of your daily tasks.

Set Reminder- Automatic Payments — When we’re hustling many things at a time, sometime it’s easy to forget to make payments for your bills. It’s always a good idea to set automatic payments for your bills so that you won’t forget to pay bills and this way you can avoid late payment fee as well.

You can set automatic payment for utility bills, credit card bills or your monthly or quarterly EMIs or mortgage payment or your insurance premium. You can set reminders as well for your payments or tasks if you don’t want to set automatic payments. This way you will exactly know when to start a specific task or pay your bill.

Important Tasks — We all have few things that required urgent attention or have to finish off early. Make a list of all of your goals and objectives, then put a value on them. Prioritize your goals/tasks accordingly and do the biggest, hardest, most important tasks first. So you have plenty of time to finish important tasks and it will reduce your anxiety and stress level as well.

If you have priorities and projects with tight deadlines, try to finish them first. Do not get bogged down by emails or meetings, and do not let anything else distract you. Some days you may be working straight through your day, but make sure you get done what absolutely needs to get done today.

Avoid Multitasking Unless It’s Absolutely Necessary — We all want to achieve greater things in life and at our work place too. You may be trying to complete ten things at once so that you can feel a sense of accomplishment.

Having said that, when you’re trying to complete several tasks at once only makes you complete each task more slowly and usually costs you more time than if you focus on each task individually. It can sometimes result in even more wasted time.

I am not saying multitasking is bad, but sometimes keeping focus to a certain tasks is important so that you can watch the quality of your work as well.

Determine which task is the most important to get done that day and work down the line from there in order of priority. And if you’re worried something is taking more time than it should, instead of doubling up on tasks, track how long it takes for you to complete each task for a week. That way, you can see where your time is being spent the most and adjust accordingly to make space for the things that are most important.

This will not only help you feel super accomplished throughout the day, helping you get more work done.

Keep Your Body Moving — Some days you may be low on energy and not able to focus, concentrate on your work or task. It may be possible, your physical and mental health is being compromised. Focus on the physical factors affecting your energy as well.

Manage sleep, healthy diet, exercise, and your own happiness at the same time. Try walking, a bit of meditation to make sure your health is in good shape. You mental and emotional health is important as much as your physical health.

Try to add these simple tips in your work routine and you’ll be able to better prioritize what needs to be done so you’re able to accomplish your objectives.

Let’s think about one thing, that if you change right now, would have the biggest positive influence on your daily productivity. Write this down, think about what causes or contributes to this and what your solution will be moving forward.

I am going to limit my time to check emails frequently instead I’ll check my emails at regular intervals and respond to them dedicatedly. I would love to know that one thing you are going to change today. Do let me know.
