Simple Trick That Helped Me Sleep Better During Senior Year

I use it for 5 years already. No pills or other medical crap.

Have you ever slept badly? Have you ever rolled around in bed all night? Have you ever been unable to close your eyes from stress?

I have. It was during my senior year of university. The stress was crazy. I had to write a diploma, take dozens of exams and work in parallel.

All the above required a lot of effort. I needed to perform 120% every day. For this, I needed strength. I needed to give my body time to recover.

But there was an issue — due to lots of stress, I failed to sleep well at night. Workload and education often kept me awake until late at night.

Even if I fell asleep earlier, I could not sleep well. Half the night, I rolled in bed. The absence of a schedule had a negative effect.

I needed to find a solution to my sleep problem. And I did.

Secret recipe

Once I was talking to my mother and mentioned problems with sleeping. She instantly came up with a solution. The best thing was it worked like a magic pill. I slept that night like a baby, the first time in a long period.

The magic formula was the following:

Take a glass of warm milk. Add a teaspoon of honey. Mix it up. Drink before bed. That’s it.

The recipe was simple enough to try it that same evening. The results were wonderful — I fell asleep 5 minutes after I got to bed.

This drink has become a must-have part of my evening routine. After 5 years, I developed a persistent habit of falling asleep after a glass of warm milk with honey. It is an additional benefit of this routine.

Some nuances

Even in such a simple recipe, there are subtle moments that you need to know before using it. The followings:

The milk must be warm. Not cold, not hot. Honey won’t melt in the cold milk. But the opposite is wrong too. At high temperatures, honey loses all its positive properties.

Liquid honey melts better than pressed honey. Want to waste less time on this routine — take the liquid honey.

The simplest way to warm up the milk is to use a microwave oven. It takes 2–3 minutes to warm up the milk from the fridge.

Warming up milk using a pan is annoying. I often missed the moment and warmed up milk too much. A couple of times, milk even escaped out of the pan — instead of going to sleep quickly, I had to clean up the kitchen.

Homemade honey tastes better than one from the shop. Probably it’s my personal opinion. Also, I was simply lucky enough to find the source of homemade honey otherwise, I would use any honey.

A drop of alcohol could make the beverage even better. I usually used rum or cognac. You may give it a try if you want.

Final Thoughts

This recipe saved my senior year in university and returned me deep sleep. I hope you will try it on your own and improve your sleep too.

This beverage is pretty simple to cook — it takes less than 5 minutes for the whole process. It is worth spending 5 minutes in the kitchen to get a night of better sleep.
