Silence to Nature’s Music
songs in the hush

Silence is like a swoosh of lofty windblown trees whispers, rustles nature hustles whistling to leaves appease
Silence breathes in an aero-spectrum a rainbow; seven hues red to indigo skyline amigo the high note: exhaling moody blues
Silence is a pebble in a pond hand thrown, plunging, plopping ripple, spiral murky mural nearby, a chorus of geese eavesdropping
Silence is Earth’s painter's brush in an early morning meadow remove shoes dew-tween-toes woos a duet playing soft and mellow
Silence lives in grains of sand on a beach-bound Summer day cupped hand sifting mood; uplifting singing come what may
Silence speaks in drops of rain complimenting first Spring blooms flower, jonquil power, tranquil humming rebirth in sweet perfumes
Silence is the greatest listener nature’s keyboard; earthbound tune slow, don’t rush stillness; hush hear the virtuoso of life’s fortune
My poem responds to Sahil Patel’s first prompt of September: silence. Quiet time in nature allows for Mother Earth’s melodies, the subtle songs of life, to come through and be experienced through various keystrokes; seasons, elements, animals, etc. Many songs, many melodies await in nature but you can only truly hear them, and experience them if you still the mind, still your pace and listen; you must hush!
Thank you, Sahil, for continuing to provide poets with beautiful prompts. You are appreciated!
