Summary

The website content is a humorous reflection on the discovery of mushrooms growing indoors, with a personal resolve to avoid consuming them due to safety concerns, and an engagement with other writers for their reactions.

Abstract

The author, who remains unnamed, humorously recounts their encounter with mushrooms sprouting in their room. Despite the potential adventurous allure of foraging within one's own living space, the author is wary of the risks associated with consuming these unidentified fungi. They express a preference for store-bought mushrooms over the "moist," potentially dangerous indoor variety. The piece is accompanied by a whimsical photo of mushrooms and a link to a related article about indoor mushrooms. The author also playfully challenges other writers to respond to the theme of "Shrooms," tagging nine individuals known for their humor rather than their poetry, in an attempt to elicit reactions and perhaps a shudder at the use of the word "moist" in a poetic context.

Opinions

  • The author finds the idea of indoor mushrooms unappealing, describing them as "drippy, like an udder," and prefers the safety of store-bought mushrooms.
  • There is a light-hearted skepticism about the boldness of mushroom foragers, suggesting that no mushroom fancier is both old and bold.
  • The author acknowledges the comedic value of using the word "moist" and the juxtaposition of the term "poem" with their own playful writing, anticipating that it might amuse or horrify other writers.
  • By tagging nine "funny non-poets," the author indicates a desire for a humorous exchange rather than a serious poetic critique, emphasizing the fun and social aspect of writing on the platform.

I’m dyna try a new shroom Found growing in my room

But I’m not tryna die For the sake of fungi

Requiring “moist” to grow Little brown buttons all in a row

The thought of it, shudder All drippy, like an udder

There are mushroom fanciers old And there are mushroom fanciers bold

But there are none old and bold Or so I am told

I’ll stick to the store-bought kind That’s what’s on my mind

No new crazy trips for me What say you now, Lu-cee?

Just trying to be a “fun guy” with this one.

Oh, that and trying to make Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) shudder by using the word “moist” in a poem. Although probably the term “poem” when used in reference to the mad scramble above is enough to make most real poets shudder.
