Summary

Justiss Goode, a writer, author, and editor on Medium, is calling for short story fiction writers to contribute to a new publishing collaboration for a sea-themed short story collection, with the aim of promoting fiction writers and their work through the Exposure Newsletter and a self-published Amazon book.

Abstract

Justiss Goode, known for editing the Daily Justiss publication and the Exposure Newsletter, is seeking fiction writers to participate in a collaborative project focused on short stories related to the sea. This initiative is designed to provide a platform for fiction writers to gain exposure, advertise their work, and benefit from being part of a curated collection that will be self-published on Amazon. Writers will have the opportunity to contribute either new or previously published stories that fit the sea theme, with a maximum length of 5,000 words. The project will involve a group of six fiction writers, including Goode, who will co-author the book. Each writer will be responsible for creating their content, while Goode will handle the final editing and the KDP publishing process. The selected writers will earn individual author royalties from the book's sales. This opportunity is exclusive to paid Medium members, and interested writers are encouraged to express their interest via email and complete a questionnaire.

Opinions

  • Justiss Goode has ambitious plans for the Exposure Newsletter to become a significant resource for fiction lovers.
  • The collaboration is seen as a way to provide value to both fiction writers, by promoting their work, and readers, by informing them of upcoming fiction-related news and releases.
  • The project is positioned as a chance for fiction writers to elevate their writing and reach a wider audience, with the potential for ongoing collaborations in various genres and themes.
  • Goode emphasizes a detail-oriented approach, ensuring that all necessary information for participation will be provided in a timely manner.
  • The initiative is also viewed as an opportunity to support and nurture emerging talent on Medium, aligning with Goode's aim to elevate rising stars in the fiction writing community.
  • The call for submissions is specifically directed at writers who are serious about their craft and are looking to take their fiction writing to the next level.

By now, many readers on Medium recognize the name of Justiss Goode as a Medium writer, author, and editor of the Daily Justiss publication, and the newly launched Exposure Newsletter.

While the publication is a treasure trove of stories covering numerous categories, the new Exposure Newsletter is devoted exclusively to fiction.

With all things fiction being the new focus of the publication, the coming weeks, and months will provide all sorts of promotional opportunities for writers of fiction.

That includes my current call for short story fiction writers.

Keep reading for the details…

Why short story writers are wanted

Even though Exposure is only just now getting off the ground, I have HUGE plans for what I want to see happen with this effective resource for fiction lovers everywhere!

  • Fiction writers and authors can have their short stories and their current or pending book related news, advertised, promoted, and made available to fiction readers.
  • Fiction readers will also benefit, because they’ll be getting the 411 about all the exciting book releases, book promotions, and fiction related news, long before it happens.

For instance:

In mid July, I plan to release a self-published Amazon book that will be a short story collaboration, containing a number of short stories from multiple fiction writers, but based on a specific theme.

Hopefully, this will be the first in many more collaborations to come, resulting in a number of really cool collection of fiction stories, covering a range of genres and themes.

  • The first theme for this new venture is: SEA STORIES
  • The current need is for: 5 Fiction writers to provide two stories each — either new stories OR previously published, as long as they relate to the sea (including stories set on an island).
  • Future details to come, will explain how: 6 Fiction writers (myself included) will co-author the book of stories that I’ll compile, organize, and self-publish, via Amazon KDP.
  • Each writer will be responsible for: Creating their own story content, making sure it fits the required writing, formatting, length, and story theme, as requested. [Story lengths = 5,000 words max]
  • After writers are accepted, and their stories are submitted: I will be responsible for the final editing, and complete the KDP publishing process, based on group feedback from all writers involved.
  • After publication and book release: Each writer/author will earn and be credited with individual author royalties, via Amazon’s software, specifically designed for publishers (Yours truly) who collaborate with other writers.

Of course, these are only preliminary details of how the process will work, so there will be much more information to come.

FYI: This publishing collaboration opportunity is only available to fiction writers and authors who are paid Medium members.

My aim is to help elevate and support Medium rising stars, above all else.

Final Thoughts

As all my readers know, I’m a stickler for details, so every single thing you need to know about this call for short story fiction writers will be provided in a timely way, so anyone who is interested can actually take part.

What can you do now? That’s completely up to you, depending on how serious you are about taking your fiction writing to another level.

  • You can send me a quick email and alert me to your interest NOW
  • You can think about your existing fiction work and consider your options, so you can polish up any prospects
  • You can get started working on a new short story about the sea or a sea related theme (Mine will be about mermaids).

Doesn’t this feel like just the opportunity you’ve been waiting for, to help jump start your fiction writing goals and give them a brand new burst of energy?

If you agree, here is what you have to do:

  1. Send an email to: [email protected] Just say: “Hey Justiss, I’m interested!” If you already have one or two stories in mind, feel free to provide the links and I’ll give them a read and get back to you.
  2. Afterwards, be sure to complete and submit a QUESTIONNAIRE to the Daily Justiss publication, in DRAFT form. You should be able to do this after receiving my email response to your request — which is when I’ll add your name so I can publish your Bio details.

If you don’t currently have a SEA STORY, but you have another sample of your fiction writing skills and style, then just send me that link instead, and I’ll still read them and get back to you.

If the stories you have in mind are already published here on Medium, this could help get you a little extra exposure, when you provide me with the links, especially since I’ll be letting all my Followers know what exactly I’m reading and which stories are under SERIOUS consideration.

Thanks for reading, and don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE to the recently created Exposure Newsletter, here on my Daily Justiss publication.

PLEASE NOTE: The commenting section for this story has been disabled, because this is not the place to submit your requests. If you’re in doubt about the process, please go over the details. Thanks guys.
