She Works 2 Hours a Day and Earns $8000 a Month — How Does She Do it?
A 24-year-old who makes $8000 a month in passive income shares her best business advice
Full-time employees, students, and small business owners are searching for ways to build sustainable income streams online and young people like Shannon Smith who is a successful affiliate marketer is no exception.
Shannon has built a solid income online and she currently works two hours a day on her business.
Here’s her best advice:
Shannon is a former waitress who took it upon herself to build a sustainable online business after she got laid off from her job. She began selling her services as an online fitness coach however, it wasn’t sustainable:
“I began working for myself as an online fitness coach, but running the business required 10-hour workdays and I was only making $1,000 to $2,000 a month.”
In July 2021, Shannon made a conscious decision to take her online business to the next level by consistently posting on TikTok and Instagram.
Her main goal:
💲To promote high-converting business tools and online programs. 💲
By October 2021, Shannon’s social media following hit more than 40,000 followers and by the end of the year, her income went from $1000 per month to $8000 per month. All from affiliate-related commissions.
Here’s Shannon’s best online business advice:
1. Automate your online business to make money in your sleep
To make passive income, set up automatic systems at the start of your business. This will save you a significant amount of time because your most important tasks will run on autopilot.
2. Create a product that requires little maintenance
As a personal trainer, Shannon began her entrepreneurial journey selling one-one coaching. However, she spent hours working on client calls and creating custom programs. Instead, she made an effort to focus on building a product once and selling it multiple times to build an automatic income machine.
That problem was solved by becoming an affiliate marketer; Shannon now sells products and services from other brands that she doesn’t create herself.
The goal is to design a product once and sell it for a long time with minimal maintenance. Digital courses, online community subscriptions, and apps are a few examples.
3. Automatically generate sales funnels
A “sales funnel” is the process that a customer goes through before making a purchase.
Customers find Shannon on social media, then they’re pushed through her sales funnel, where they sign up for her email list and receive product offers.
On Shannon’s website, she has a system in place that creates the sales funnel automatically; customers are added to my email list and introduced to products without my intervention.
Shannon uses popular tools such as ClickFunnels, to build and sustain her automated income.
4. Create an email auto-responder
One of the oldest marketing rules is the “Rule of Seven.” According to Dr. Jeffrey Lant’s research, you should contact a prospective customer seven times in 18 months before they are ready to buy a product.

5. Do not attempt to reinvent the wheel.
After gaining 109,100 TikTok followers, Shannon discovered that the key to going viral and growing your audience is to research what works for others. Sure, you want to be unique, but you should also post content that people are already interested in.
Use this method to add your own spin to social media posts:
✅Examine what other people in your niche are saying. For example, if you sell wellness products, is there a specific conversation going on in the wellness space that you could contribute to, or questions people are constantly asking in the comments section that you could answer?
✅Use these insights to define your message or the information and advice you’ll provide.
✅Take note of the formats that are being used. Are your successful competitors posting a lot of spoken stories or dances with advice overlaid as text-on-screen?
✅Are their captions lengthy, or does the post’s content speak for itself? Take note of which formats are popular and consider how you could do something similar.
✅Concentrate on the hashtags and sounds that are gaining traction. Save any sounds or hashtags you come across while working on the platform.
✅Include these elements in your intended format to reach as many people as possible.
