She Wears Her Shame Like Worn Out Shoes
In her voice, she finds her self.

She walks her shame through corridors that echo their accusations.
Then hesitates, hypnotized by thoughts. A moth transfixed by light. Their questions reinforce her inner doubt.
Aware of violation, but conflicted by the programs placed there years ago.
Her conditioning bestows a sense of specialness. It gives her status as the chosen one.
Selected, then set aside; a cast-off pair of shoes flung carelessly into dark recesses: shopworn goods, no longer worn.
Reminders reflect her outlook. They reinforce beliefs stored within the boxrooms of her mind.
A deepening desire to leave her skin behind begins to build. A need to move beyond and tell her truth.
Unspoken words imprison her but judgments handed down. devour her soul.
Time slows as a single breath brings connection.
The simple act of listening gifts her with your grace. A gentle pause; a moment of attention lets the ripples flow.
She becomes empowered by releasing pain. In her voice, she finds her Self.
