There was no safe place but home, and all Marilyn wanted to do was spend her entire existence in bed.

If only her neighbor would go away.

Why did she have to keep knocking?

Marilyn would carefully part the blinds so she could see the woman on the steps without being seen.

Except one day she heard a baby.

There was no one on the porch.

Was she imagining things?

But as the crying got louder, she couldn’t resist cracking the door…
