She Falls- A Poem About Self-Harm
And The Helpless Feeling When Your Loved Ones Hurt

she falls through night
my words cannot reach her cannot catch her she won’t hear them can’t know them
so I whisper, I beg, plead, SHOUT, cry and she falls and she
falls
and she f a l l s
withering away eaten by angst the night is massive it e x p a n d s and devours while all I try burns away like morning dew nothing to the dark
i’m less than enough less than she needs
i reach but can’t touch her pain
helpless to ease unable to stop her descent so she
bleeds her flesh our heart i hold but she pushes i love but she burns care but she rages and i search new words to land on freshly deaf ears and still she falls through the night
who else should catch her before her body finds the ground but i can’t see where she is can’t find the place she’ll meet me can’t figure out how to save my precious hurting girl
