“She Believed She Could, So She Did”
It’s a common inspirational quote, but is belief alone really enough?
I’m sure many of us have come across the titled inspirational quote. Authored, according to goodreads, by R.S.Grey.
I’ll admit, even though I’m writing somewhat cynically about it now. At one point, I lent on and took strength from this quote to help get me through.
But looking at it again more recently, I can’t help but wonder if this is actually the case.
Confidence and belief in oneself, of course, are incredibly important on the road to success, but what about skill, luck, hard work, determination?
Does self-belief, in turn, help with these?
Or is this quote too reductive?
Too sentimental and romanticized?
