Requesting consideration as an author in the upcoming book of poetry seems presumptuous. The authors here are beacons, encouraging me to put thoughts on paper in ways I haven’t done since I was much younger.

Coming back to poetry, at the age of 73, brings comfort, and a touch of discomfort as well. So, a little poetry …

A letter of intent

is a daring move when one is aging fast.

seventy-three turns around the sun

is dizzying.

changing,

leaving, and

coming back around.

Poetry fell to … where?

ages past,

rife with angst,

it’s back without the fury,

but still,

it dreams.

I would be honored to be considered as an author in DEP’s upcoming book of poetry.

My poetry is spontaneous and about life, often looking back over time, hopefully with a touch of wisdom and/or humor sprinkled within.

I am committed to making the project a success by being present, as able, at all of the events, following the editorial requirements, and timeline.
