Share Your Creativity October Wrap-Up and a New Monthly Challenge
Saying goodbye to this spooky month!
Hello artists! Happy Halloween!
Another month has gone by and we are winding down our October prompt. This month we asked you to create spooky Halloween art. I’m happy to say that some of you felt inspired to send in your creative submissions and I was thrilled to host them here on Share Your Creativity.
Here they are:
My co-editor Celeste Wilson started us off with her Black and Orange submission that inspires us to try something new.
Ana Josovic shared her cool pixel art animation with us.
Isteb Grah made a digital version of herself.
Lysergic World Design shared his adorable Halloween Clip Art
Tarrancaldwell shared her wonderful Halloween painting
And I, Jillian Amatt, shared my interesting Dragon Eye art
Thanks so much to everyone who got involved in October's prompt!
We also received other art submissions that were not related to the prompt.
Kim Zuch tells us about her knitted Christmas presents that she is working on.
Akemi Sagawa tells us about the traditional process of dying a Kimono.
Finally, Ashi Sharma tells us about her art journaling. Spoiler alert, she has inspired November's prompt!
Thanks to all of the creative people who have submitted stories about their art! I truly love seeing how your creativity comes through into whatever medium you may be working on these days.
November Prompt
And so, here we are! It’s now November and a whole new prompt is coming your way.
If you read the above, you will know that Ashi inspired this month's prompt with her art journaling. Please read her story to get inspired!
Back in 2021 when my partner and I were traveling in Uganda, I got inspired to do some art journaling. I had never done it before and had a lot of fun putting art and words together on a page.
This was right when we arrived in Uganda and we were so excited by the plants and wildlife already. We didn’t know it then, but the giant bird turned out to be a Maribou Stork. We were ecstatic!
I then went on to do some more pages as we moved through the country.
Then, on one fateful day, I got stabbed in the foot by a goat skewer stick that I tripped over on the side of the road. Yes, it was as gruesome as it looks here! Thankfully I got my tetanus shot and had no serious side effects from this crazy experience.
Sadly, this was the end of my art journaling. But now that it is this month's prompt, I guess I need to get back to it again.
Have you ever tried art journaling? I would love to see your projects!
For this prompt, you can feel free to share your past projects or get inspired to start new ones. Every day is an opportunity to get creative!
We truly look forward to your submissions this month. When submitting, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- No submitting profanity, nudity, or hate imagery of any kind.
- I realize that writing and poetry is creative, but there are lots of different publications for those. I would like to keep this strictly for visual creativity. I also only accept photographs that have been visually altered in an artistic way.
- You can put a link in your post to a website for purchasing your item (if relevant) but I don’t want your whole article to be a personal advertisement. Use your own discretion.
- Please consider that this publication aims to inspire people to get creative. So let’s keep it light and upbeat. No articles about ‘starving artists’ or other bad mojo please:)
- Be nice to people’s posts. If you don’t have constructive criticism or something nice to say, don’t comment! We are here to encourage and uplift! Thank you!
- For the prompt responses, please use the tag MONTHLY CHALLENGE, plus tag your post with relevant tags like ‘creative’, ‘creativity’, ‘art’, ‘inspire’, ‘get creative’. And use ones to describe your medium such as ‘cake decorating’, ‘weaving’, ‘pottery’, ‘dancing’, etc.
- Medium rules rule! Please put an appropriate title and an optional subtitle, and keep them relevant to your article.
- Please include at least one photo of your creation.
- Have fun and get creative!
Thanks so much to those who follow and submit to the publication. My co-editor, Celeste Wilson, and I, truly love seeing all of your creative projects and look forward to so much more!
Happy Creating!
