POLITICS
Shall We Talk Politics Without Politics?
Hint: The origin of politics
Like the beautiful creature in the cover image, I am aware you might feel a little confused when reading this gobbledygook. No panic. It will only last for a few seconds!
My close circle knows how much I am apolitical. They have no clue about my reasons, though, since I am anything but interested in talking politics! Given the current circumstances in America where I have many friends, I thought the time has probably come to reveal the secret!
Let’s start from the very beginning, shall we?
Why is there a need for politics at all? Bingo! Because countries need to be governed! But why do we have countries in the first place? “What a weird question, Myriam!”. This is the reaction I am expecting from many of you, dear readers!
In the very beginning of humankind's (the first version at least) existence on this beautiful planet, we call earth, all that mattered was to survive and exploit nature’s gifts!
There is evidence those first humans are not our ancestors, which is undoubtedly revolutionizing Darwin’s theory. But, this is a story for another time if you don’t mind! Our ancestors evolved — according to this discovery backed by science — about 200000 years ago.
Tribes existed way before our species. The archaic humans adopted the group configuration because it was easier to survive as a group when they were merely marginal creatures among many other animals and predators. For millions of years, their position in the food chain used to be in the middle. Humans jumped to the top with the rise of our ancestors!
That spectacular leap from the middle to the top had enormous consequences. Other animals at the top of the pyramid, such as lions and sharks, evolved into that position very gradually, over millions of years. This enabled the ecosystem to develop checks and balances that prevent lions and sharks from wreaking too much havoc.
As lions became deadlier, so gazelles evolved to run faster, hyenas to cooperate better, and rhinoceroses to be more bad-tempered. In contrast, humankind ascended to the top so quickly that the ecosystem was not given time to adjust. Moreover, humans themselves failed to adjust.
Most top predators of the planet are majestic creatures. Millions of years of domination have filled them with self-confidence. Sapiens by contrast is more like a banana-republic dictator.
Having so recently been one of the underdogs of the savannah, we are full of fears and anxieties over our position, which makes us doubly cruel and dangerous. Many historical calamities, from deadly wars to ecological catastrophes, have resulted from this over-hasty jump. ~ Yuval Noah Harari
Gradually, the tribes’ territories evolved into countries. Can you give a guess about what fueled the division of the planet at this point? As Yuval brilliantly stipulated it above, fear was the drive, like it always is whenever you witness some chaos!
This enemy is the root cause of all tragedies of humankind’s history. Comparison, jealousy, lies, cruelty, hatred, corruption, discrimination, labeling, judging, stigmatizing, injustice all shapes, addictions, all chronic physical and mental health issues — either benign or harmful, wars, global warming — you name it — are merely symptoms!
Why did the modern world ‘leaders’ choose to keep and honor this territory/borders/country concept? Because most of them are fear-based, grandiose, entitled, delusional, and craving power. They go by the name of antagonistic personalities, and some of them are malignant narcissists.
The ‘malignant narcissist’ that we find at the end of the spectrum of NPD was described in the words of Psychologist Erich Fromm as:
Extreme, exploitative selfishness, the most severe pathology and the root of the most vicious destructiveness and inhumanity, which he considered to be “the quintessence of evil” (1964, p. 37).
Psychoanalyst Otto Kernberg (1970) followed up on this, viewing the malignant narcissist as a sadistic psychopath.
Moreover, they got the sad reality that it is way easier to control people who are divided and driven by the fear of others, of anything different from the false identity they created for themselves as a construct of their lifetime of conditioning.
Coming back to politics, it goes without saying that I hate it because of all that I have been trying to explain above! I am not a patriotic person anymore despite being very grateful to the small and beautiful country in which I was born because it is nothing else but another creation of the whole fear-based process.
I am currently identifying myself as a Universal citizen born Tunisian and, it is possible only because I came back to the source, the spirit, the original Center: the ‘Universal Principles’.
We were all granted this core part and gift among others: 1. The power of choice, and 2. The seeds of our four forms of intelligence / their manifestation:
- The Intellectual intelligence (IQ) / Vision: We develop this first form through being humble enough to unlearn & learn again. This part also depends on how much others are willing to use our minds creatively.
- The Physical Intelligence (PQ) / Discipline: This also includes being paid fairly for our contributions so that we could live decently and continue giving back to the world,
- The Emotional Intelligence (EQ) / Passion: This one determines our ability to build trust and healthy relationships depending on the other party as well,
- The Spiritual Intelligence (SQ) / Conscience: This one is fueled by our Center, which is giving us our direction in any endeavor. It is the only one that does *not* depend on others and is the foundation of servant leadership.
I always feel happy when observing the enthusiasm of some young individuals advocating their patriotism and motivation to serve their country through politics. At the same time, I feel saddened by their unconsciousness.
We don’t change a system until people change and migrate from fear to love!
Last thoughts
Politics are not the real problem. They are only a symptom of some real cancer eating the world from the inside: the invasive subconscious program manipulators have been successful for so long in writing and exploiting subtly.
When you treat the symptoms of the flu with some medicine (a quick-fix), your body might heal for a short period. Nonetheless, if the root causes making your immune system fragile in the first place are still there, the chances are high you will contract the flu over and over again!
The same logic applies to politics or any other concept biased by fear: humanity had the privilege to know some great politicians and principled leaders who did their best at their level to serve the world. But if this leader is surrounded by a corrupted team, sooner or later, the system would win the battle.
Until the global awareness moves from the symptoms to the root causes, that each one of you, my dear kind-hearted readers, could do your part of the job — rewiring your program and brreaking free, I will not be tempted to talk politics!
