Summary

Shafira's Forest Lover is a short story about a human woman named Shafira who is deeply drawn to the forest where she engages in a passionate and forbidden romance with Yisroel, a fairy being.

Abstract

The narrative "Shafira's Forest Lover" unfolds the tale of Shafira, a woman who finds solace in the forest and is inexplicably drawn to it. Her visits become more frequent due to her profound connection with Yisroel, a fairy creature of androgynous beauty. Their relationship is intense and sensual, with Yisroel warning Shafira of the dangers of their attraction, likening it to the sweetness of honey that humans cannot resist. Despite the risks, including the possibility of bearing fairy children, Shafira succumbs to her desires. Yisroel, although enchanted by Shafira, is acutely aware of the potential perils their union poses, particularly the inability for humans to survive in the fairy realm. The story culminates in a bittersweet realization that while their love is enduring, their worlds are too disparate to unite permanently. Yisroel promises Shafira that she can join them in the forest when she is ready to leave the human world behind.

Opinions

  • Yisroel expresses concern about the allure of fairy creatures to humans, suggesting it is akin to an addiction that can lead to negative consequences.
  • Shafira's longing for escape from the disconnected human world into a life of fantasy with Yisroel indicates a deep-seated dissatisfaction with her own reality.
  • Yisroel's realm is depicted as a place where human needs cannot be met, highlighting the inherent differences between the human and fairy worlds.
  • The story conveys a poignant message about the complexities of interspecies love and the sacrifices it may entail.
  • Despite the potential for a tragic outcome, the story maintains an undercurrent of hope, as Yisroel offers Shafira a future together when the time is

Shafira’s Forest Lover

Shafira has always loved the peace and quiet of the forest. But now there’s something else to draw her back…

Shifra entered the forest. It calmed her, as it always did, the twittering of birds, the soft mossy carpet underfoot, the rich scent of green life.

She was drawn back here, time and time and time again. She would have made it her home if modern society allowed such a thing, or more to the point, if she was brave enough to escape from it all and just run away.

And now there was something else to draw her back.

Yisroel.

They stepped from behind a tree now, their lithe form completely androgenous; smooth cheeked, long haired, flat chested.

Yisroel was beautiful, and every time Shifra saw them her breath caught.

‘I think your visits are getting closer together.’ Yisroel smiled.

‘You know they are.’ Shifra took the few small steps to cover the space between them, wrapping her arms around Yisroel’s narrow waist, as Yisroel wrapped their arms around her shoulders. ‘I can’t stay away.’

‘I told you to be careful.’ Yisroel’s voice was husky as they lowered their head to kiss Shifra’s forehead. ‘Us faery creatures are like honey to you humans. Sticky and irresistible.’

‘Good.’ Shifra kissed his bare chest. ‘I don’t want to resist you. I want you to take me, here, in the open, where anyone could see.’

Yisroel laughed. ‘Here? You know as well as I do no one comes this way. It’s why you like it so much.’

Shifra smirked. ‘Then come closer to the better used tracks then.’

Yisroel shuddered, as Shifra knew they would. ‘There’s enough iron in your blood to make me uncomfortable as it is. I don’t need more humans to add to that.’

‘And yet you come to me.’

‘You intrigue me.’

‘I’m glad.’ Shifra kissed Yisroel’s chest again, as their hands slid underneath her top to pull it over her head. She lifted her lips to meet theirs, shivering as their cool hands cupped her breasts, tweaking her nipples between their thumb and forefinger. She moaned at their touch, pressing her hips against their thigh as their tongue slipped into her mouth. They lifted her, arms strong as she wrapped her legs around them, the short canvas skirt she’d worn only just hiding the fact she wore no underwear.

Yisroel groaned when they realised. Their kiss deepened as one hand slid around her buttocks to caress her slit and a finger pushed against her clit as they pressed their thumb inside. Their erection pressed against her thigh, and Shifra shifted just enough that it slid between her legs, eliciting a groan of desire from the both of them.

‘Fuck me, Yisroel. Please.’

Yisroel held her gaze as they lifted her enough for the head of their cock to press against her opening. ‘You don’t worry about having little fairy babies?’

Shifra laughed. ‘Can humans and fairies make babies?’

They shrugged. ‘It’s happened.’

‘I’ll risk it.’ She groaned, closing her eyes to focus on the sensation of stretching between her legs as Yisroel eased inside. Soon they were buried deep within her, and she held them tight as they began to thrust, their bodies moving together in a slow, sensual dance.

‘You feel so good, Shifra.’ Yisroel pressed their lips against hers as their hips rocked back and forth, sending wave after wave of pleasure spiralling up through Shifra’s body.

‘God, so do you.’ She pressed her head against their neck, crying out as she came. Yisroel came soon after, dropping to their knees to lower her onto the soft mossy cushion below.

They lay together, neither one wanting to break the moment, both of them breathing heavily as they basked in the afterglow.

Shifra nuzzled into Yisroel’s neck. ‘I love you, Yisroel. Can’t you take me back to your realm?’

‘My realm is no place for a human.’ Yisroel shook their head sadly. ‘You would believe you were eating the most decadent of foods, while all you consumed was air. You would waste away, and not even know it was happening.’

They pulled away so they could look into Shifra’s eyes. ‘I would have you with me at every moment if it were possible, but I would not have you die for it.’

‘I hate the world I live in. It’s so disconnected. Why can’t I live the last years of my life in a fantasy?’

‘Because your life would be cut short. And I won’t have that. I won’t have you escape to fantasy, and miss out on the truly wondrous experiences of life.’

‘Like you know what it’s like to be human.’

Yisroel shrugged, and smiled. ‘I live that life through you. And I’m always here, and I’ll never change. Come back to me. Let me see you grow old, let me love you then as much as I love you now.’

Shifra sighed, a tear trailing down her cheek. Yisroel kissed it.

‘I’m here for you,’ they whispered again. ‘Always. And when you’re old, and you’ve truly had enough of the human world, then you can live out your last days here, with me.’

Shifra lifted her head. ‘Promise?’

Yisroel nodded. ‘Promise.’
