Shadow Work: What is it?
A Powerful Way To Get To Know Yourself

Definition: Working with your unconscious mind to uncover the parts of yourself that you repress and hide from yourself.
I believe shadow work can help one immensely with an ongoing issue. Whether you have trauma, a problem with a friend, or triggers, it is the perfect solution to diving deep into your past and solving an opportunity.
Being open to your emotions and accepting them the way they are is the first step to shadow work. Taking the time and patience to sit down with yourself and be truthful is a powerful move.
Instead of avoiding and escaping your emotions, let them come to the surface. Listen to what they are telling you; they have important messages.
If you have a journal, use one. It will come in handy. Whether you like to reflect on your day or just write down what has been bothering you, either work.
After writing down your creative opportunity (problem), build awareness around the issue.
Some questions to answer:
What has been causing me to feel this way?
Was there something that happened in my past to give rise to this issue?
When has this issue been popping up in my life?
How can I fix this?
Solutions will find you once you show up for yourself and take the time, to be honest. If you are interested in more questions, search “shadow work questions” on the internet or Pinterest!
