Sex Is A Ressource That Women Possess And Men Pursue. Here’s Why.

In terms of the choice of sexual partners, there seems to be a huge difference between the sexes.

Why are there hardly any male prostitutes? Why are women almost exclusively paid for sex?

Sociologist Pierre van den Berghe noted

“The male prostitute, unless he caters to homosexuals, is an economic redundancy, consistently undercut by eager amateur competition. “

This shows that sex is seen as a kind of service for women. You can see this in many situations:

• Men are more likely to buy drinks or give women expensive gifts than the other way around.
• Just as with prostitutes, strippers are almost exclusively female and the clientele male.
• Female porn actresses earn significantly more than male porn actresses. In this area, the gender pay gap is reversed, but it is larger than in almost all other professions.
• Online dating also shows a significantly higher demand from men than from women. On Tinder, for example, many more men are active than women. In addition, women are much more selective.
• On Onlyfans most of the top-earning creators are women. The demand for nude pictures of women seems to be much higher than the demand for nude pictures of men. Some women even become incredibly rich with it as I described in this article.

• This dynamic is also reflected in very bad actions: many more men try to force sex than women. 99% of rapists are male.

Based on these facts, we can say that sex is a resource that women possess and men pursue. Women are the gatekeepers to sex, so to speak. This is also referred to as female choice.

Why is that?

As a very interesting study shows, men are significantly more interested in casual sex than men, as I described in this article.

Conversely, this means that women are more selective.

Evolutionary psychologists assume that for men the sexual strategy of focusing on quantity has evolved in order to maximize the chances of offspring, while for women it makes the most evolutionary sense to focus on quality since she has to invest a lot in pregnancy and can theoretically father far fewer children than a man.

So if women are more choosy than men, the phenomena discussed at the beginning of the article can be explained by a very simple economic principle:

Supply and demand determine the price. Most women have a huge supply of men who want to have sex with them. Accordingly, it is not worth much, which is why, for example, hardly any women go to a male prostitute.

For men, it is the other way around. The supply of women who want to have sex with the average man is not that big, because women are pickier by nature. However, the demand is high. Every man has a great desire for sex. A low supply and high demand lead to a high price.

This explains why, for example, men are much more likely to take women out for an expensive meal, buy them flowers, or even pay them directly for sex.
