Seven Biblical Reasons To Get Happy
Are you looking for happiness, joy, and fulfillment in life? I have a solution. Do not let fear suck the joy from your life. Instead, feast on these seven verses from the Psalms. It will do you good, I promise. Revel in how good is the God of our salvation with me.
The first seven verses of Psalm 34 assures me of a loving God. I want you to take a peek of some of the feelings I get from reading what King David wrote.
There is more to the chapter. I’ll save that for another post.
Here we go. Seven verses to change your day, your week, in-fact your whole life.
I have a suggestion for you. Before reading, say this prayer.
Lord Jesus open my spirit to receive what I am about to read. Amen.
1. I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Blessing the God of heaven is something I get to do for Him. I realize God is wholly sustainable by Himself. He needs nothing. I can and will offer Him my praise, not because He requires my approval. Instead, I need this practice of praising Him for building my life.
2. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
When I boast in my accomplishments, I lose the respect of others.
I must explore ways to magnify My Lord so others will recognize His greatness.
3. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.
I esteem God as higher than myself.
I must exalt His name above all other names with an assembly of like-minded people.
The God who hears and delivers.
I encourage you to meditate on this verse four for a week. All seven verses are special but this one will put a lift in your step. This verse alone will set you free from fear and depression. To know God hears and answers us is amazing.
4. I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.
God not only hears my prayers but acts on my behalf. This thought is the most amazing thought to me. The God of creation hears and answers my prayers. Not only does He listen to my prayer but He acts on my behalf. He hears and delivers! When I am fearful, He hears my plea and brings a deep settled peace in my soul.
5. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.
When I look at the cross on which the Savior died. I am overwhelmed with His remarkable compassion He has for me.
6. This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.
Who am I that God would hear my plea? I remember, Jesus said, I will never leave you, I am with you always. I approach Him knowing the poorness of my soul. He hears me, What a great thought!
My sleeping pill.
7. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.
My fear of God is my reverence for Him. Who He is, the God of the universe demands my willing reverence. I owe God my deep respect. Who am I that a God so all knowing, all powerful yet has set His face towards me to be my present help in my time of trouble? Yes, I give Him all reverence due to His holy name.
In Hebrews chapter one, verse fourteen in The Amplified Bible, assures us God’s angels are close to us.
“Are not all the angels ministering spirits sent out [by God] to serve (accompany, protect) those who will inherit salvation?”
Yes, God’s angels are His servants sent to us, because He loves us. My bedtime prayer is for God’s angels to keep our family safe through the night. There are no side-effects to God’s sleeping ‘pill.’
The Bible is not only a book to read as are other books. The Bible has answers we cannot find anywhere else.
I hope these seven verses guide you into an abundant life filled with happiness. You deserve it and God will deliver His joy to you.
