Setting a publishing schedule

Set a writing schedule for Medium

Work and daily obligations can consume your entire day. Once night comes, you only have an hour to yourself. You have the option of shutting down and watching your favorite shows, or you can write. I would choose to shut my mind down. There are 7 days in a week and 24 hours in a day. You are awake for at least 16 hours but most of those hours are consumed with work. “Where do you find the time to write?”, one would ask. In this blog post, I’ll show you how I set time aside to write and publish.

The steps to publishing consistently.

Get a notebook for idea keeping — Anytime you have an idea, jot it down in your handy dandy notebook. Pool together 8 to 10 ideas per week. This way you have leftovers for the next week.

Block one or two days — Once you have your ideas for the week, pick one day to write, usually Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. This method also allows more time to read blogs and interact with other Medium writers.

Try not to be perfect — Edit your blogs and add photos related to your blog post. Think of the process as a fun National Geographic project.

Once you have a few blogs with photos, set a publishing date for each. For me, it is every other day, Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
