I remember my mom’s fried chicken. It was fried to perfection in a black cast iron skillet. It tasted so good. Years later, my uncle Richard and I were living in a trailer. Uncle Richard did all the cooking. I loved his fried chicken as well.

My wife wanted me to buy her an air fryer a few years ago. It does an amazing job, but I missed skillet-fried chicken. I thought about talking to her about getting a Skillet. I feared I would bum her out because she loves her air fryer. The other day out of the blue said, “ I sure would like a cast iron skillet.”
I picked up my phone and went to Amazon.com. A few days later Amazon delivered a brand-new cast iron skillet set. Last night my wife fried chicken. There’s nothing like chicken dipped in flour. The crispy fried chicken has flavor and texture that air fryer chicken, as good as it is can’t replicate.
The aroma from the kitchen was evocative of a time long gone
My wife is the best cook ever. She made the best fried chicken I ever ate. It brought back so many memories of my mom and her cooking. My wife and my mom are not a lot alike but my late mom loved to cook, and my wife loves to cook for me.
When my wife cooks an awesome meal I’m happy, but weirdly I’m sad. She never had a chance to meet my mom or my uncle. I bet they all would have got along great. I can imagine them cooking together during holiday get-togethers. Men love your wives and your moms.
Don’t take your wives and your mothers for granted
Don’t take them for granted. Make sure you tell them how much you love them and that you love their cooking. It was a good day yesterday. The chicken was the best fried chicken ever.
The good meal last night eased the pain of having to go grocery shopping with my wife today. I love my wife and her cooking. I’m so glad we met on Facebook when we did. I hope everyone can find a partner who cooks. It makes life so much better.

Air fryer chicken is awesome. Crispy fried chicken fried in hot oil is the best- fried chicken ever. Don’t become so used to air fryers. you don’t want to forget the joy of a hot cast iron skillet loaded with hot oil and flour-covered frying chicken.
