An Open Letter To All My Followers, Readers And Fans

Sending Love And Prayers To All. Completing three months @ medium with sincere thanks and gratitude

I hope each one of you and your dear and near ones are safe, and having a life better and fortunate than many others in this world. You may not believe me if I say, I include each one of you in my prayers. Yeah! I don’t ask for more to my creator but for your safety, happiness and righteous guidance. Too good to be true? Nope! I honestly do it out of selfishness, if you are not safe and happy, who will read my work?

Do you wanna enroll in my prayers list??? Then become my follower, Lol I am just joking. May you all always have a biggest smile on your face.

My dear followers, I am grateful to each one of you irrespective of whether you read my work or not lol. I am still wondering, how did I earn 500 followers from my 1st medium follower Roz Andrews to the latest 500th follower Zay Pareltheon as on June 5'2020.

That moment I see the notification go green, my heart gets excited, and it goes crazy when I see someone has followed me. The moment I see, I visit her\his medium page and read at least one work even if their topics of interest are way too far from mine. I don’t deny, I read for the sake of reading but that’s the way I could show my gratitude and convey my love and heartfelt thanks. If any one of you complaint I didn’t read your work, that naughty notification bell to be blamed because to the best of my knowledge I have read. Trust me please.

I don’t often visit my profile page so I may not be aware of the total count of my followers and my following. I am not sure if you would have noticed, my following count is lagging by at least 100 to the followers’ number, which in fact shocked me. I know I might have missed following some due to notification failure. But hundred or more?

Why didn’t I follow all my followers? I list some reasons below because I owe you an answer even if you don’t bother or care to know(hehe) but I feel obliged to explain.

  • I might have forgotten to click follow, seriously it’s possible. I don’t follow a person directly from the notifications. I always visit the page to read, then follow. So there is possibility I just read, it would have interested me yet forgotten to follow. But sometimes after few days or weeks when I had come across that follower’s work again, I had followed.
  • I write fiction and poetry, and so I love to read fiction and poetry, some science stuff mostly biology (I hate physics because it’s too tough for my poor brain to cope), for personal growth, even blogging\freelancing occasionally, medium related tips and tricks. I therefore follow them back. I don’t understand anything related to data or technology or any software stuff, so I wouldn’t have followed back.
  • Last and important, when the profile does not say much. Just few words but giving no clue where the person is from or who he or she is. I follow members and nonmembers alike but I couldn’t connect with an anonymous someone. You can say even little about yourself, a mom? a student? dad? or just anything to answer who am I? I am partial too in following (guilty), I blindly follow someone who writes I am dad or mom or grand parents, any fellow Indian, any fellow Muslim.

Mystery readers who are you? Recently, my poetry (so called) gets at least a minimum of 100 reads (200 at the maximum). But as I get to see only around 20 fans, I really have no idea who are those mystery readers? You leave behind no trace of evidence so I couldn’t reciprocate your love by reading your work in return or acknowledging. Who ever you are, where ever you are, accept my sincere heartfelt thanks.

A special note to all my readers and fans You amazing people are the reason I am surviving on this competitive platform. You guyz are giving me the encouragement, motivation and support I need. Beyond that, your love and kindness is overwhelming.

A shout out to my dearest friends whose names are always sitting in the claps and fans list for all or most of my poetry\writing, leaving wonderful responses.
