Selling My Words on Medium and Getting Paid by the Pound

I want my Medium writing to pay more.

So, I am thinking of ways to make this hobby a bit more remunerative.

I’m a single mom in a very complicated life situation — meaning: my toxic ex, unsatisfied about how much he was already tormenting me with standard methods, now wants to go to court.

And, damn. I discovered how expensive lawyers are.

Being humble (right — ), I’d be happy with just making a part-time salary on here, and then having another part-time job to reach a decent lifestyle.

Working from home for part of my time sounds just perfect. Same with making money through writing. Sign me in.

I’m on maternity leave right now, so this would be the moment when — in theory — I could experiment more with my writing and see what it can realistically do for me.

Until now, Medium has provided me with just money for ice cream and cinema (okay, some good dinners, too, a couple of times). Nothing more.

I want to do better. How?

But my time is what it is at the moment: crumbs.

My capacity to write more, improve, and learn new things is non-existent, because of the above-mentioned crumbs of time I can put into things that aren’t motherhood.

Also, my mind is debilitated by the almost five-month-old attention-seeking and energy-depleting monster — ahem, sweet boy — I live with.

I can’t follow those pieces of advice much.

(Though I can still hope for luck!)

The other thing is — I won’t give up anyhow.

I like writing too much, and it turns out that — since I can’t afford a therapist anymore — writing longer pieces about pivotal turns in my life is one of the best things I can do for my mental health!
