Selling AI Designs on Etsy: My January Results

Building an Etsy shop with AI designs.

Made by the author in Leonardo

Last year, I decided to test whether I could sell AI-generated designs on Etsy.

Based on my previous experience selling POD products on this marketplace, I am confident in my ability to generate profits from any new shops I start.

However, I was not sure if I could replicate my previous success with a store that was full of AI designs.

I have chosen to use my favorite AI image generator, called Leonardo AI, to start generating simple vector designs.

Even though I had other projects running simultaneously, I still made a few sales in this new shop.

However, due to my divided focus, I wasn’t able to upload many designs.

To be exact, I made 15 sales and earned approximately 21 euros after deducting the fees, with just 12 designs.

Not bad, but nothing extraordinary.

But I had a plan. I have a goal to upload a minimum of 10 listings per month to this store.

I understand that the number may seem low, but I don’t have the time to only focus on this store.

As an Etsy seller, I always recommend aiming for 50 or 100 listings for digital products as quickly as possible, but this store is different.

So, the question is: what happened to my new Etsy store in January?

Listings

Since I planned to upload 10 or more listings to this store in January, I successfully managed to upload exactly 10.

As a matter of fact, this shop now has 22 active listings, with the majority of them being bundles.

Inside, I’m disappointed because I could have easily uploaded 10 more listings that month, but I was lazy.

Traffic

The traffic to this store is rapidly increasing. I have been fortunate enough to attract 427 unique visitors to my listings, which is a great number considering the low number of active listings.

Revenue

And now the interesting part.

In January, I received 22 orders with a conversion rate of 5. 2%, resulting in a revenue of 35 euros.

After deducting all the fees, the profit amounts to around 23 euros.

This is not a life-changing money, but it still shows me some potential for this shop.

The Future

A $20 per month is not what satisfies me; I have an even bigger plan.

I aim to reach $50 in February and $100 in March, all without spending a single cent on Etsy ads.

I believe that achieving this goal can be possible with proper research, improved SEO for better listing visibility, and consistently uploading more designs.

I aim to have 50 listings by February and a total of 80–100 listings by March.

But I know that this is something that requires a lot of effort and time, but I can do it.

In fact, if you want to be successful in anything, having the right mindset and dedication can be the key.
