Sell It, Donate, Dump It!
“Give it all away…”
“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure; what he doesn’t appreciate, the next man will.” Unknown
How I Feel
I am flustered! Suffocation has set in, years of suffocation!
I did not know it at the time. Time after time and year after year and decade after decade and purchase after purchase.
Suffocation has set in; desperation has set in, and WHERE DO I BEGIN?
Voices of Well intended people
“Sell all that junk you got, and you can buy a new car, a luxury car!”
“Donate it or give it away.”
“You cannot take it with you.”
“Why do you need so much? Why do you have so much?”
“So, you donated, sold, gave away…I cannot tell…. It looks like the same pile.”
“Let me help you; I will get rid of all of it for you.”
“No, don’t take the day off work; go to work; I will organize everything for you.”
“Make a site, sell online; there are lots of sites to sell.”
“Go to the consignment store.”
“Sell it all before you move.”
“Donate it all before you move.”
“Someone will appreciate your junk.”
“You got all good junk; give it away; you do not have time to sell it.”
“Have a garage sale and sell all your things.”
How I see my stuff
This is how I see my junk…
- a whole lot of lovely items that need organizing.
- New items are still on hangers and in boxes that have never been opened.
- Designer bags are only used once or never.
- Clothes, clothes and more clothes, piles of clothes.
- Small appliances still in boxes never used; new.
How Did I Get Here?
How did I get to this point?
I live in an apartment. There is no garage.
Why do I hold on to all my belongings? I cannot let go.
No, I am not a hoarder!
No, I am not a hoarder!
Why do I hold on to all my dead relatives’ things? I cannot let go!
Why do I have my living relatives’ things? I am a historian; I got it all!
I am swallowed up by so much stuff.
What do you suggest?
Are you here now? Have you ever been here? What did you do?
