Self-reflection is the Key to Lifelong Growth

There are two sides of the debate on New Years resolutions
Some believe it’s a fresh start, others say it can be done anytime
Ultimately they’re both advocating for the same solution
Take a moment, whenever it is, to analyze your paradigm
You will never become a better version of yourself
If you don’t understand what aspects need improvement
It’s a futile mission to work without self-reflection
But with a goal in mind, you can move toward a solution
This solution must not be understood as final
But a step toward betterment in a moment in time
Evolution has always been essential to survival
If we don’t self evaluate, we cut our own lifeline
As time goes by, new faults will be illuminated
Some may even emerge from what had been prior improvements
Growth is not linear, and its certainly complicated
But without attempting, we’re halting our own movement
So sit down, take a moment, invest in yourself
Self-reflect on what aspects you’d like to rescript
Be critical, have intent, motivate yourself
Change your life for the better, make yourself more equipped
Others may not notice the self-investment you’ve made
But if you are content in your own self-development
There’s no reason to waste time trying to persuade
Just know once you’ve grown future growth is not eminent
Resolutions are a lifelong process, not a singular act
But once you get in the habit, bind yourself to a contract
