Writing and Publishing Tools I Use and Recommend
Self-Publisher’s Legal Handbook
A must for any indie publisher’s library

Self-Publisher’s Legal Handbook is a legal book that’s actually fun to read.
As an author (both traditionally and self-published) and a self-publishing consultant (who has ghostwritten and published books for clients in multiple genres), I can’t say enough good things about Self-Publisher’s Legal Handbook by Helen Sedwick. It’s an invaluable resource that covers all aspects of independent publishing.

Helen Sedwick is a lawyer who doesn’t write like a lawyer. She explains complex legal topics in a clear, easy-to-understand way. She answers questions you know you have — and tells you things you didn’t know you needed to know.
The best reading approach is to skim the book so you know what it covers, then go back to read the sections you need as your publishing journey progresses.
Keep this book handy — you’ll be referring to it regularly.
