Self Portrait: Seeing Inside
January Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Self”
Through the looking glass of history.
Shooting into a wide-angle mirror in the back of a historic pharmacy in Cuero, Texas. The 100-plus-year-old business is a pharmacy museum now. They still have bottles of cocaine and heroin that you could buy over the counter at one time. There are also bottles of coca-cola with cocaine in them. Plenty of snake oil as well. Leeches. Many other interesting medications of the past.
I love historical places and photography. Trying to find an unusual angle is what I often do. This is one of my favorites. Shot in early December of 2021.
