Self Love Is Difficult

Self care is not selfish, but giving, nature can show you how

Self love is not addiction

We need to learn to love ourselves. Not just medicate ourselves. Not just addict ourselves.

To shopping. To drinking. To coffee, gambling. Porn. To anything that we know we feel compelled to over-indulge with that we know is bad for us, we have to re-think.

Ask yourself, “Why am I spending my LIFE on this?” Does it benefit you? Does it connect you to other living persons and nature?

It’s hard to do, because we are taught to hurry and hustle. We also learn to hate.

Indulging in healthy things is challenging. Go outside. Put down that device for awhile. Move. Feel your senses. Relax. Breathe.

Habits and habitats

We don’t do these because our habits are instilled from daily neglect.

We neglect ourselves.

A good clue is what you sense and become aware of around you. If you find you are in “mindless” mode, you are not healing yourself, but killing your time. You are in fact, killing your life.

You are also killing the lives around you.

This is not an exaggeration. When we cave-in to our over-consumption we are using up resources that we can’t even envision.

We waste food. We waste money. We waste plastic, energy, paper. Forests and sea-scapes. Nature and reality. Really. We waste almost every thing with our worst habits.

We waste the self respect and the respect of others who miss you in your non-presence.

Create new habits by enriching and enlarging your habitat.

It is hard to do, but so rewarding.

Nature can inspire and guide you

Nature, unlike religion, or people, or dead-end jobs, will never let you down.

But, isn’t nature trying to kill us? Aren’t we a cancer on the planet? No, we belong. We just have to find our way.

It is we destroying nature that is “killing us.” Nature, for all the hurricanes, earthquakes, floods and fires is regenerative.

When we collaborate like nature’s systems, we create our own “weather”: climate, moods, solutions, and innovations.

Biodiversity is sustainable life. That which concentrates, or over-uses, is not life sustaining.

It is only our wanton ways of waste that create garbage and trash ourselves.

If you plant green beans, you won’t see watermelon growing. If you trust birdsong, you won’t hear the screech and roar of vehicles and chainsaws.

Nature is 100% reliable, even when she is at times unpredictable in our eyes. Because nature’s laws ultimately are true, more-so than our human laws.

Breathe.

Inhale and say: “I live”

Exhale and say: “I choose.”

I choose fortitude, action, gratitude, compassion.

Love and care for yourself first by drawing from nurturing Earth. Then, give back and the world will reward you with connection and belonging.
