The year was 2011 and I have just received an email about a training program on how to make money online. After failing miserably, it sparked a curiosity that quickly turned into an “obsession”.
The logic behind making money online fascinated me from the beginning, spite more failed attempts than I care to recall. At the time, (2011) I also had really limited PC knowledge.
My PC literacy extended to emailing and creating electrical drawings (as I’m also an Electrician). Of digital marketing and everything that goes along with it, I knew nothing!
So, I had to learn how to use my computer, and then figure out ways to make money online. Because I kept going, here we are. I would never have thought in a million years I would be here in this capacity, as a writer.
But I can assure you it was not easy, and to top it all off, English is my second language. My point is that you have to make the decision to be successful no matter what it takes.
Then you must be prepared to do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes until you are successful. Not until you grow tired of trying. Below is one of my favourite quotes.
So, for those who might need a bit of inspiration right now, I know that feeling of desperation when nothing seems to work. No matter how hard you try, the video in this post is especially for you.

No matter how hard failure hits you, remember that you are not failing but rather gathering knowledge. You did not fail, you learned something, and you discovered another strategy that doesn’t work.
You are going to test and discover a lot of those because there is no “one size fits all” and it is up to you to find what works for you. The important part is that you must be prepared to beat failure every day until you succeed!
Believe me when I say, that whenever you feel beaten and want to give up? Considering where I came from if I could do it then anyone can! Just decide how badly you want to succeed, and always remember how many people you have to prove wrong.

When something is too “difficult”, what do you do? When something seems “impossible”. Do you give up or do you keep going until you both learn to understand the concept and until you succeed?
That is what separates the super-successful people from those not quite as successful yet. The will and ability to keep going no matter what. The ones that give up, usually end up working for the ones that refused to give up.
In the first chapter, I share a few of my failures and getting started as a newbie. Now just let it be known, I still type with 2 fingers, true story…lol! I just can't get myself to master “typing” for crying out loud!
After almost 12 years though, these two fingers can type surprisingly fast, and the little finger on the “shift” bar often surprises me, flying solo! It’s like it “KNOWS…!”.
But after like 110 thousand words on Medium alone, sooner or later the automatics might start kicking in, right? Who knows? I’ll let you know if it does.

Facing the competition is going to be fierce regardless of your niche or topic. Your job as a writer is to come up with better content and better solutions than that of your competitors.
Chances are, the longer you keep going, the more “wind from the front” you’re going to get. But then a 575 TON Airbus takes off against the wind, not with it!
When the competition and the wind get stronger, then sped up, be faster, be better, and be more motivated. Be your own inspiration, because the time will come when you might find you’re the only one in your corner!

I am still doing the exact same thing I have been doing almost 12 years ago. I just kept doing it and I can assure you that my articles from back then. Is admittedly a little embarrassing in comparison to now.
But I always keep my old content, a constant reminder of where I came from. So I never forget to be humble and kind, because I once too was completely lost online.

You Have Ability You Lack Commitment.
We all have different abilities and levels of knowledge. You have the ability, we all have, but we don’t all have the commitment. With digital marketing, commitment to consistency is of paramount importance.
But you must commit to one goal and achievement at a time. You cannot master and be successful with everything at once. That’s just not even logical thinking.
You have to decide what you want to achieve, and then create a content marketing strategy that fits in with your plan. From there you keep feeding that content marketing strategy until you see results.

You are committing to yourself, forget about the nay Sayers and those doubting you. There are a lot of people making insane amounts of money on the internet.
If they could do it, then so can you or anyone else. The only thing separating you and me from them is time. We simply have a few more times to fail and learn before we “get there”.
