Self-help professionals will tell you the best morning routine!

They aren’t necessarily wrong.

But are they right for you?

For example, popular advice is to do dishes at night so we wake up to a clean kitchen. Okay, fine.

But, I don’t want to. I like washing dishes in the morning, because the hot water feels good on my hands.

It is important that you have some routine which nurtures you — prepares you for the day.

Ask yourself questions.

What helps me?

  • focus
  • love myself
  • be mindful
  • like myself
  • create
  • like people
  • heal
  • other

After brainstorming, plan at least one thing to do first thing in the morning that nourishes YOU.

I like to include these elements.

Movement

Meditation (prayer)

Mindfulness (goals)

Your plan may take 15 minutes or two hours. It just needs to be for YOU.
