Lifeline Poetry Challenge
Self-discovery Through Poetry Challenge Prompt:-9
Greetings poets,
I hope you all are doing great. Grateful to all of you for submitting great responses to the prompts.
Today’s prompt is very unique. I have thought about it a lot.
As I have already covered so many things in my previous prompts, today is something new for you.
Today’s prompt is,
What makes you powerful and calm at the same moment? An activity that makes you feel great about life.
For me, writing is something that makes me feel great about life. I know the days when I have lots of pain inside myself and I had no one to talk to. I didn’t know how to convey my pain. At that moment, writing became my savior. I used to spend hours and hours just writing what I was going through.
After that, writing became a part of my life. I used to write my everyday feeling and emotions to keep track of what I was feeling on which days.
It was great therapy for me. I started feeling relaxed once I write all my emotions out on the paper. I was becoming more aware of what was happening to me.
Therefore, I believe writing is something that makes me feel powerful and clam at the same time.
Writing makes me feel alive. It makes me feel happier. After that, I started writing poetry and you all know my love for poetry.
Writing can work like therapy if you are going through hard times.
“Close the door. Write with no one looking over your shoulder. Don’t try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It’s the one and only thing you have to offer.”
~ Barbara Kingsolver
If you are the one who just started your journey of being a writer. I have a piece of one advice for all of you. First, write for yourself. Write about what you already know. Write about the things that you have to offer to others. It will be a great practice of writing. Once, you have done all of this join any writing platform or start your blog and then write for your audience.
Before you write for your audience, learn to write for yourself. It will make the process easy.
