Self-Crafted Motivation Will Propel Your Growth Best
A cheat-sheet for getting through bad days
How do you deal with bad days that have the power to pull you down?
What do you do when someone else’s perceptions create self-doubt in you?
How do you react when you can’t go on?
In a world that’s often chaotic and overwhelming, finding the motivation to pursue our dreams is a challenge.
When I had bad days, I went into a spiral of overthinking which was hard to come out of for several days. If you’ve experienced this, you’ll be able to relate to what I am about to share.
2 years ago, I changed my approach to deal with bad days and developed a new practice that helped me calm myself within a few hours.
What I do is visualize the best outcome of whatever thought is bothering me. Then, I come up with a one-line quote to remind myself how I am bigger than my problems. Finally, I print this quote and hang it on my desk.
Fellow writers will nod. After all, this is why we create. To imagine a possibility so positive that it helps us be better and we can share that to brighten up our readers’ lives.
Sometimes, fears catch up to us, making it hard to stay positive. It’s in these moments we must remind ourselves of our power to choose a different thought. It’s really that simple. But it takes practice.
