Seeing Through Raindrops
I am so lucky!
Over the course of my entire life I have never owned an umbrella. How crazy is that?
I never wear hats. They mess with my electromagnetic field. Plus I just can’t stand anything atop my noggin. How weird is that?
I love flip-flops. You don’t have to sit down and bend over in order to put them on or take them off. I think they are one of humankind’s greatest inventions. They are the closest thing to being barefoot without worrying what you’re going to step in.
I went for a walk this morning. I had barely left my home when it started raining. It was not long at all before my feet were sopping wet.
And so was my noggin. Because I don’t own an umbrella and because I don’t wear hats, my glasses were soon covered with raindrops.
And I did not care.
It would have been foolish to wipe the glasses clean for they would only have been covered with raindrops again within seconds. I could still see well enough to avoid walking into a tree or streetlamp. I could still look both ways before crossing a street and see well enough to avoid being flattened by a UPS truck.
I was going to take a shower when I got home anyway so I did not mind getting sopping wet. It felt good.
You know that old Hollywood cliche in which some character or characters in a movie or sitcom or Simpsons episode experience something truly horrendous and it seems that nothing could possibly get worse for them and then suddenly it starts raining on them?
Well, that is not what it felt like for me at all during my walk. Instead I felt blessed. I felt like I was being anointed. I was overcome with joy and the feeling that everything was good and getting better.
How crazy is that?
