Summary

The website content discusses the concept of predicting the future, referencing Edgar Cayce's readings about Nebraska's geographical changes and the author's personal experiences with ESP and remote viewing, while questioning the future of America and encouraging readers to consider the possibility of change.

Abstract

The article "Seeing the Future" delves into the mystical predictions of Edgar Cayce, which include a future where Nebraska is situated on

Seeing the Future

Have you ever tried it?

In some Edgar Cayce Reading (I don’t remember which one) concerning the future lives of Edgar Cayce, the reading stated that Cayce would be reborn in the future in the state of Nebraska. My first thought upon reading this was, “Why the hell would he choose to be born there?

But upon reading further something sparked my curiosity. The reading stated that at the time Cayce would reincarnate in Nebraska that Nebraska would be on the west coast of America.

WTF?

If you look at a topographical map of the continent of Turtle Island the land where Nebraska is located is nowhere near the ‘west coast of America.’ It’s nowhere near the east coast, either. It is as far from any ocean as anywhere on Turtle Island. It is located smack dab in the very middle of the continent, equidistant from any ocean.

But if you look at a political map, showing borders of states and countries then other possibilities emerge.

Way, way back in the 1800s America split in two between north and south. The history books call it the Civil War. What if America would split in two again some time in the future? Except instead of a north/south division it would be a east/west division.

What if the states of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico and all the states west of those states seceded from America and all the states east of those four states remained in the union? If that were to happen then Nebraska could be considered being on the very western edge of America, right? Edge. Coast. Whatever.

It may be important to remember that the Edgar Cayce Readings also predicted a planetary magnetic pole shift in 2005 and that didn’t happen.

But when we get out our personal crystal balls what do we see for America in the future? Will it continue to remain exactly as it is? Will it continue to have 51 states (including the new state of Columbia where the city of Washington is located)? Does your crystal ball show massive changes in the country that some psychics call the ego of collective mass consciousness? While change is a constant in our world, will America continue well into the future without change?

What does your crystal ball say?

I was standing in line at the grocery store one day in either 1980 or 1981 or 1982. I don’t remember exactly when it was. At times my memory can be as deficient as my ability to see into the future.

The book had a title something like: Instant ESP: How to Develop Your ESP. I almost never buy paperback books while waiting in line at the grocery store. I mean, seriously!

But through a series of events early in my life my psychic powers had shockingly presented themselves to me. While ALL humans have psychic abilities, I became aware of mine but they were not exactly ‘developed.’ They just came and went at their own discretion. I thought it would be cool to develop them so I bought the damn book.

Every aspect of ‘ESP’ was covered in the book with complete instructions on how to develop these powers. To me, it was a game. I tried most of what was included in the book. The results were rather poor except in one subject; remote viewing. I tried the exercises and the results were a little scary.

But one subject that excited me was predicting the future. I always thought that was one superpower that would be cool to have. I’m not sure why I was obsessed with learning how to do this, but at the time I was.

The instructions called for using a control subject. It was suggested to use a periodical news magazine. I was living with a woman at the time who had a subscription to TIME magazine, which I read every week. So that is what I chose.

The instructions then called for a question. While in deep meditation I was to ask a very specific question about the future and then wait for the cover of TIME magazine to appear in my vision that would show a date when that would happen.

At the time a man named Lech Walesa was causing all sorts of disruption in the country of Poland. The protests he was leading was threatening the very fabric of Soviet imperialist dominance. Due to strange Polish personal interests I was very interested in this and I closely followed all the news. I was convinced that the Soviet Union (as it was called then) would invade Poland in order to put an end to this.

So in playing with this my question became, “When will the Soviet Union invade Poland to stop the uprising?”

It was in the middle of winter and the tensions were at their peak and I was convinced that the Soviet Union would put an end to it all through invasion.

Over the course of several meditations I repeatedly asked the question of when this would happen. One day I was vividly shown a TIME magazine cover that supposedly answered my question. The photo on the cover showed some jet fighters in the air and below that was something on the ground being blown to smithereens. I could not make out the headline but I could see that the date was in late June.

Meanwhile, tensions in Poland subsided greatly and slowly the news cycles no longer covered it. And I completely forgot about it!

But then in late June the newest edition of TIME magazine arrived in the mailbox. I totally freaked out when the cover showed some jet fighters in the air and below them something on the ground being blown to smithereens! It was the exact same photo that I had seen in those meditations months before!

Exactly the same!

But it had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with either Poland or the Soviet Union! The photo and cover story was about the Israeli bombing of the construction site of an Iraqi nuclear power plant. While the photo and date was exact, the events were thoroughly unrelated!

Perhaps this shows some of the difficulties of predicting the future. After that I no longer cared much about seeing into the future. I became much more focused on the NOW. Sometimes that can be hard enough to see.

But sometimes it can be fun to pull our crystal balls out from their hiding places and take a playful look. It requires us to suspend the rational thought we are so addicted to and open ourselves to spooky forces. How often do you do that?

What kind of America do you see in your crystal ball? What do you see in that magazine cover? What radical change do you see beyond the mists of that crystal ball?

Perhaps more importantly, what do you see about yourself in that crystal ball? How open are you to inevitable change?
