The link between Sleep, Emotional Eating, and Health Deterioration.

How is your sleep? Isn’t that one of the most common questions asked when one visits any health practitioner? And what is the reply one usually gives… It’s fine, I sleep 5–6 hours or I get up a couple of times or I’m a light sleeper & at the slightest noise I get up.

Whatever the reason, do you know that lack of sleep & moreover poor sleep habits are directly linked to making the metabolism sluggish leading majorly to Obesity along with a multitude of other health issues like Irregular BP, Diabetes, Thyroid, Heart Disorders, Body Aches & even Amnesia in the long run. This holds true for both children and adults.

We should never forget the importance of 7–8 hours of sleep each night. Regular Sleep patterns will help reduce stress, boost immunity & make one maintain mental clarity, improving one’s mood & eventually reducing the risk for health issues.

So for those who aren’t aware, please start now & for the rest who are struggling to get a good night’s sleep — please reason out why it happens because it’s this lack of sleep which will affect all choices made and also the habits formed in the long run around food & mood for the next day.

This is so because whether you agree or you don't, this impact leads to a disruption in the hormones in the body & that causes an emotional turmoil that lasts throughout causing crankiness, irritable behavior, tiredness but most of all leads to Emotional Eating.

This Emotional Eating causes effects directly associated with food which might give you a happy feeling at that moment but will give a terrible result to your system. This daily emotional eating caused by irregular sleep patterns causes a vicious circle.

So please learn to understand what triggers you to develop these unhealthy food habits in your daily living. If your relationship with food has been like this lifelong, messed up — sort it now like you sort personal ones as this is equally important.

Thus daily try to nurture your SEE Link, build it and maintain it, making it most essential to watch your life not just get better but healthier too each day.

Today, July 1st is Doctor's Day, and as I just finished thanking all my wonderful doctors an idea struck me and I started writing. Since I’m no doctor but just a Holistic Health Coach, I thought why don't I give a piece of genuine advice today to all my dear friends on Medium today.

So this one goes out to each one of you and I hope it rings a bell.
