Seascape
A poem

How is it, that you do not judge? As you murmur, let the waves crash against the rocks
How is it, that you talk to humankind? As you tremor from the seabed to the outer reach of land
Oh what splendour The vision of your turquoise waves Your manner Oh so calm Even on the darkest winter day
It sit in awe during the starasmatic nights And twinkle of the moon And the mirage on dusty golden sand dunes
Who are you? Can you express emotions that I can understand? Do you have a plan?
Can we sit and talk of the solitude I feel inside? Seascape, I have decided it is in you I must confide
Let me tell you…
I’m a man of many colours Misty yellows, purple hazes I define myself in rhythmic form Classic music to the ear Let me express what nature means to me So we can strike a pose Talk and build up conversation In this medium of prose
We’ve just begun These words get deeper
Do you see me in your future? Do you see me in your dreams? Can you show me all the wonders of my life?
Oh yes there’s more…
I’m a man of orange blooms Dream of luscious blue lagoons Old time jazz and two-tone shoes John Coltrane, Cab Calloway’s blues I move in Bossa Nova ways Live for jazzy mellow days Hip and sway and jive away This is the time where I say
Sssssssss…
Seascape, please reveal to me the wonders you possess Please do not test
For I desire not your fire Nor wild waters raising higher I want to dream of coral reefs The golden cliffs of Dover beach The lakes of Toba and the highlands one can view
For this is you
Seascape How is it That you speak a tongue unknown to humankind? How is it That you move in ways unknown to conscious mind?
You are sublime
And I tell you this today That I desire freedom days Where I can sit and feel the windy aura blow
How you caress the island shores Yet crash against the mountain doors Reflect yourself into the sky And watch the sacred spirits fly
Seascape I have found the time and words I do confess
This was my test Until we meet again I know I’m truly blessed
