Poetry Prompt: Reflection Time

Trials and troubles take hold of me, “Curl up, stay safe”, the world decree, Trapped in a shell, but I wish to be free, In an ocean wide, in the deep blue sea.

I long to swim, and dance with glee, Colourful corals, and critters to see, Fill me with wonder, and no debris, Dearest universe, listen to my plea.

But I’m still here, alone on a beach, My dreams and fancies, just out of reach. “Stay in the moment”, my head does preach, This is the lesson, these seashells teach.

I think that a beach is an excellent place to reflect on our lives. If you don’t have the opportunity to hit a beach, do listen to some beautiful relaxing music with ocean wave sounds, and reflect away… Here’s something to help you get started:

Tagging: Tima Loku | Vishnu*s Virtues | Melissa Bee | Suzanne V. Tanner | Trista Ainsworth if you’re up to it and anyone else interested in the prompt: Reflection Time.
