Introducing a series of virtual gatherings for writers of Scrittura (and elsewhere)
The Invitation
you’re invited to a poet’s party bring all your readers and words to a place for language gathering and think of all the noticing a silver glint within the eye a feather affair before they fly formation in the glowing sky — the beauty of the birds
and when we’re at our poets’ party you can be deeply you pass your joy, and pens, and paper pass the reckless grief you savor for experience is what we crave inspiration until the grave you can be scared or simply brave for your pretending can be true
what will you bring to our poets’ party we’ll need some bread and wine and tea whatever you need for your dedication to practice all your best creation the details will be revealed but be sure you will be healed so put down your writer’s shield spread your wings, and you’ll be free

I had so much fun gathering for Medium Day, I want to do it again! Through my mixed media business, Paint & Prose Arts, I am offering a twice-monthly Zoom call for Scrittura writers! (Non-Scrittura writers on Medium will be considered too!) We’ll meet on scheduled Thursday evenings (EST) from 8:00 PM- 9:00 PM beginning September 21, 2023, through the fall semester.
Proposed calendar and syllabus:
September 21: Autumnal Equinox — a beginning for a community of poets: establishing group expectations, prompted writing, and poetry readings
October 5: Prose vs. Poetry and Experimental Forms: a panel discussion
October 19: Poetry Reading
November 2: Creating Collections: panel discussion, book shares, and readings
November 16: Poetry as Memoir Workshop
December 7: Closing Poetry Reading

FAQ
Q: If I pre-register, must I commit to all the sessions? A: No. You are welcome to attend any or none of the sessions, even if you sign up. I hope that you will attend all of them. :)
Q: What is the cost? A: There is no cost. However, I am taking donations to offset the cost of my Zoom membership and to pay for my time planning and facilitating. Do not feel obligated to donate. I do not want this to be cost-prohibiting for anyone. If you would like to donate, click here.
Q: I live in a different time zone. Can I still attend? A: Yes. I live on the East Coast of the United States. I will have them on Thursday nights at 8:00.
Q: When will you send the Zoom link? A: A day before the event.
Q: Will the sessions be recorded? A: Not this semester.
Q: Does Scrittura have a Facebook group? A: Why yes. I am glad you asked. It is brand new. Click here!
Q: Who gets to read at the poetry readings? A: Anyone. I will read something every session and invite the group to request to share via email. It will be like an open-mic night.
Q: I am interested in being on a panel. How can I do that? A: Email me.
