Scrap Lumber

A sonnet

I’m not really a carpenter but still, I do sometimes make useful things from wood. Mostly from sources, years from the saw mill, An old pallet or deck can still be good.

Bookshelves, TV stands, and my garden paths, Give these already used dead trees new life. Start cutting boards, removing nails from laths, And you are well underway without strife.

Come up with a plan and start drawing it, Measure, cut, nail or screw them together. Old lumber’s dry, one should use a drill bit, Sand and apply finish and watch weather.

Trees are amazing, living and breathing, Use wood at least twice to reduce grieving.

Thank you Science Duuude, for inviting me to write for your most excellent publication, Woodworkers of the World Unite!!!
