Scientific Explanation For Manifesting
How to make good things happen to you, backed by science

Don’t you feel skeptical when someone says things like manifest the life of your dreams?
I do. I have a very hard time believing these types of things because for me it’s hard work and consistency that takes you places.
Lately, the term manifesting has become super popular, so I decided to give it a try.
Let’s be honest, what’s the worst thing that can happen? That it does not work? Well, it won’t if I do nothing anyway.
Trying to get to know everything about this practice I stumbled across the closest thing to a scientific explanation of manifesting, by a psychiatrist.
So I wanted to share it with you, in case you are as skeptical as I am and need a little push.
Guideline
- Baader-Meinhof effect
- Turning on your ascending reticular activator system
- 2 main viruses in the system
- Relation with manisfesting
Baader-Meinhof Effect
I am pretty sure you have experienced this effect.
You buy a new car or a new bag, and suddenly, everyone has that new thing you bought. So you think, oh I am a trendsetter.
No, you are not.
Despite being constantly bombarded with all sorts of information, our brain only retains small pieces you’re interested in.
Whatever it is you desire, your brain will find a way to show you.
Ascending reticular activator system
This system’s purpose is directly related to attention and consciousness.

The thing is, Dr. Rojas Estapé says you can either live your life with this system activated or disconnected.
What happens with the majority of people is that they live life completely unaware of the existence of this system.
As a result, 90% of the people don’t have good things happening to them because they don’t know what good things they want to happen to them.
On the contrary, you can make good things happen to you, by turning this system on and having a higher predisposition to them.
Main viruses to the system

ARA system is so powerful yet so easily shut down.
Nowadays, its main enemies are:
- Screens
Your brain receives the same gratification from likes as from drugs and sex. No wonder it is so addictive.
But despite being such a persuasive stimulant, who can say that ever since they got a smartphone they are smarter?
As Dr. Rojas Estapé says:
Good things stopped happening to us because we chose a virtual life instead of a real life.
- Attitude
We undervalued the strong effect our attitude previous to any event has on the event itself. It determines our reaction.
Happiness and success are not about what happens to you, but what you do with the things that happen to you.
We must learn to educate our thoughts and this constant voice in our heads, toward a proper attitude, and therefore, reaction.
Relation with manifestation
Don’t get me wrong, I am not talking about manifesting as magic, and sitting down waiting for things to happen, but the scientific way to attract whatever it is we want.
Manifesting as a way to give our brain purpose. To know what to look for and what to pay attention to, by turning on our ARA system.

I am not an expert manifestator, but I understand you must write the exact things you want, even how you to feel when you achieve them.
And this makes all the sense in the world, when you set yourself specific goals, you know exactly what it is you seek.
The search is more precise, as well as your focus and attention to one single thing instead of the hundreds of thousands of possibilities.
Everyone I look up to is talking about it, so I decided to give it a try. And what do you do when you want to learn something?
You buy a book.
I’ll be doing the exercises the book suggests and will share with you the ones I consider more interesting, as well as the results, good, bad, or nonexistent.
Do you believe in manifesting?
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this article! I am grateful that I could share my knowledge with you and truly hope it somehow helped you. If you have something you would like to add or another insight on the matter, don’t hesitate to share it with me.
Have a lovely day!
