Scenes Of Tranquility

Prologue a black screen quietly fades in ‘symphony №6 in B. Minor’ by Pyotr Ilyich Tschaikosovy over a serene scene of waves, clear crashing on a beach complete with its own history
Opening misery does not seek the company of tyranny, a king, gleefully request that his breakfast is to be accompanied by ‘Serenade №13 in G. Major’ while townfolk beg by his feet for life's most basic necessities
Scene One a peasant hungry, no longer to provide for his family stands atop a table, unstable no different than his town of residence and tells his neighbors and those reliant
‘for us to truly be at peace we must release any hate and show our king the brevity of what it means to starve, to work to provide for each other. He sits atop a kingdom built by us not for us — and what I seek — is equality’
Scene Two after the hungry peasant’s monologue the town worked together in solidarity in a montage over Ludwig van Beethoven’s ‘symphony №3 in E-Flat Major’ compiling notes of history, ancestry, and highlight how a king's insecurities will not benefit his community
Scene Three led by the hungry peasant he requested to speak to the king on the behalf of their community; woefully the king approved and listened to a citizen commonly classified as lower, beneath.
the peasant spoke
‘thank you for allowing me to speak. I come to you not to beg, not to plead, but for you simply listen to our request. On my breast are documents compiled by your kingdom. We ask you to be reminded of this kingdom’s history. We ask not for gifts but for you, our dear king, to bequeath upon us your willingness to listen as we seek not to be punished but for our voices to be valued. Is that something you can do?’
a few moments later without a response
Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight sonata’ slowly fades scene three to black.
end.
This poem was heavily influenced by certain pieces of classical music. I wanted these pieces to emphasize the mood of each scene. Scriptwriting is something I enjoy and wanted to incorporate that into this piece as well.
