Say Yes To Life

Just flow

Coming back from a yuletide frolic in my birthland, I remembered writing this poem. So I beefed it up a little bit and shared what joy it is to allow yourself to simply flow. To feel like a kid again and be okay with not knowing what comes next. Simply let go and go with the flow…

Take the mic, belt out a song, even when you are off-key, be in the moment, and have fun.

Drive far away without a destination and get ready for surprises around a curve, a landing, a viewpoint, or a new road.

Bring out your chopping board, cut the veggies, drop some spices, design your own stew, then sit to savor the flavor you’ve created.

Take a pencil, on a fresh sheet of paper, close your eyes, whisper your intentions, and allow the pencil to move without lifting it off the paper, then open your eyes to the message of your soul.

The guitar that lay abandoned in the corner of your room, waiting for your strums, patiently anticipating your yes to its invitation to revive your romance with it. A line, a melody in your head; write and invent your own songs.

In light and darkness comes an opening. A glow of radiance on your face or a dreadful dance with the macabre. Life is exquisitely beautiful.

Like the stream of a waterway, I can either sit on the edge and feast my eyes on the flow of life, or I can jump in the water and swim with life, or I can refuse to believe that the waterway even exists.

Our dance with life can be an intimate yes! OR… (fill in your blank)
