Saving The Planet One Page At A Time

It’s not rocket science…

Like many people, I am more conscious of how my actions affect those around me.

I recycle everything, where possible, and it really winds me up when I have to fish stuff out of the bin because it should have been recycled.

Alternatively, catching items that are in the recycle bins that shouldn’t be there! It’s a constant education.

One area that I thought I could do better was in the amount of paper I use for taking notes.

Over the years, I have been through notepad after notepad (after notepad), and when they’re full, I end up throwing them out and starting again.

There must be a better way.

I discovered Rocketbook. The notepad that you can wipe clean!

After doing my research, I ordered it, and it’s been brilliant.

The paper has a coating on it so that when you wipe it with a damp cloth, the ink wipes clear.

You have to use a specific type of pen. It must be erasable, something like the Frixion series.

The book itself contains 36 pages, and the really clever part is that, in conjunction with the accompanying app, you can scan the pages to various cloud destinations, such as Evernote, iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, you get the picture.

Once you’ve scanned it, the app retains the scans as well as sends them on; then, it’s safe to wipe clean and start again.

It’s become a weekly habit of mine to clean up ready for the next week.

I have to admit, it’s a little bit of a chore, but I’ve had the book since September 2021, and already I reckon I’ve saved two full notebooks.

I may not totally save the planet, but I feel like I’m doing my bit.
