Satiation
A poem about friendship and the notions of love
Twas a good day, when I asked God for a friend you came just like that — a hope begins weaving a thoughtful relation, that gave joy to us both connections, and love that was aspiring us to grow
We would talk, and stare at the sight of each other, ask questions, and seek answers with pride a blissfully feeling together in zest, we laughed and spent our time as the hours turned to months
You promised, that we would be together — a prompt but I always encouraged you to not make hopes that are not fulfilled, and sought — as I knew the nature of love, fear, and inconveniences are always a wall across
You would, stay silent whenever I would talk — as you’d stare with a smile across your face that was just a lot I would always strive towards your way, as I knew what made you laugh, and weary — I’d wait for you to get free
So I can bring a smile on your beautiful face, it gave me joy to know it well — you were a moment much treasured, perhaps that I reminisce on, as now that you’re gone it was painful, as I always told you to not make promises you can’t fulfill
I did write and did call all your numbers, that were on the wall its no use now, but I will wait, even if the time runs out I will be here, whenever you walk across my way in search of love As I am the companion, who sparked your soul — filled it with zest and made it anew
Though I still would walk away — now you fear, afraid of me afraid that I won’t accept you when you stopped to reciprocate towards me When I called and wrote to you then — but in this time you waste, I would stop you there don’t live in the past, I would encourage you as always
I still remember the time, and I hold it well — the hopes and promises that never fell I made you smile — those thoughts of you are on repeat, as you thrive in joy under the silky sheets of the love that made us unique
