Santa Claus

Santa, where have you been? 2020 has been such a long hard year, we could have used you. Any word on what the New Year will bring, will it be different, will we have learned? Not that you’ve let us know such things in the past, but this year, give us a clue Tell us what you’ve heard from way up north, what everyone has been saying At least the parts we need to hear, to bring us laughter … a little cheer

Cause we’re all a little ragged down here, in case you haven’t heard Life’s been rougher than usual, people meaner than the Grinch Anything to lift the spirits, instill new hope, make us dream again Understanding and love, wrapped neatly with ribbons & bows would be well received Santa — not the usual this year, please. Make it special, make us smile again.

This acrostic poem is written in response to a challenge to do a creative play on a traditional acrostic. Thanks, Tree Langdon and Pranshu, The Maverick Files for the tag.
