Sammy the Spammy SuperHero

A drabble from a writing prompt by JF Danskin

The drabble (100 words ) that you are about to read is inspired by one of the kings of writing prompts, JF Danskin. He’s written over 100 prompts on different subjects. I picked one of his food prompts because he included a superhero in the mix. Pun intended. Read on for a not-so-delicious look at the world's most disgusting food.

Idea 4

Craft a scene or even an origin story for a sci-fi or superhero character whose abilities are strongly connected to food. Perhaps a superhero that needs to eat a lot of burgers in order to fly, for example.

“Let me know when you’re finished, Sammy,” the robust woman glared commandingly, barking out the words, “you will sit there until then.”

Sulking, slumping, muttering, Sammy grudgingly picked up the child-sized fork and slammed it into the disgusting piece of spam.

“Might as well get this over with,” he thought as he bit down on a grape-sized piece of the puky stuff. “Oooh, that is definitely….yummy?” Surprised, he took another bite and another, and another.

“Aha! All done, matron.” he burst out of the confining chair and flew up the stairs.

“Wait, I flew? Gimme some more spam!”

There are so many challenges out there right now that it’s impossible for me to keep up with them all. Why not accept a challenge and write a drabble if you feel the same way?
